Dragon Master - Evan

One of the newest class that was released in KMST (Test Server). Evan isn't one of the five heroes that battled the Black Magician long ago (Freed was the original Mage that fought the Black Mage, but his dragon was sealed by a curse in ice). That is how Evan's story starts (Evan is the name of the boy who discovered the dragon, the dragon's name is NOT Evan, a lot of people get confused with that, instead the Dragon's name is Mir). They are typically known as Draconic Mages and their intro will be similar to Aran. Evan is related to the magician, it uses Staffs and Wands as their weapon. Their home setting is on a farm, near Henesys. Through special quests, you can acquire a Dragon Egg. The Dragon Egg hatches to a baby dragon called Mir upon 1st Job Advancement. The unique part is that the dragon will be your main 'weapon'; therefore, all attacks go through the dragon. Their job advancing system is very unique in which the dragon gain new skills (masters) and grow at levels 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 80, 100, 120, and 160. Their maximum level is Level 200 like the Aran.

Dragon Master - Evan

Story of Evan

A long time ago there lived a heroic Magician named Freud. Mighty even by the standards of Maple World, he delved into many different areas of magical research, but chief among his interests was the study of the Onyx Dragons. His greatest desire was to find a way for humans and dragons to live together in peace. After many years of study and exploration, this desire would bring him before the greatest of Onyx Dragons, the Dragon King, Afrien.

Now Afrien, as King of the Onyx Dragons was the greatest of his kind. Despite their many differences, Afrien loved humans as he loved all life. When Freud appeared before him, he found a kindred spirit, a human who shared his philosophical love for all lifeforms. Not wishing to miss out on this opportunity, Magician and Dragon pledged to each other a Spirit Pact of mutual defense and understanding. They bound themselves together using many powerful rituals and spells, creating the first Spirit Pact, the forerunner of the many that would come later. Under the pact, two spirits would become one and the resulting bond would be unbreakable, even lasting past death.

The benefits of the Spirit Pact were many and powerful. Magician and Dragon nurtured each other, each becoming stronger together than they ever could have apart. Together they ushered in an era of peace and justice, shining all the more brightly for the brief length of time that it lasted. It was shattered when a great evil entered Maple World. We know him today as the Black Mage. When the Black Mage discovered the incredible power of the Onyx Dragons, he coveted it for himself. One night while Freud was away, the Black Mage granted himself an audience with the great Onyx Dragon King.

Unable to understand the source of the Onyx Dragon’s great power, the Black Mage asked Afrien to join him and betray Freud and the humans he had in his care. He promised the King that by working together they could become more powerful than anyone could imagine. Afrien tried to explain that the source of the Onyx Dragon’s power was the love and trust that came from the Spirit Pact. He was incapable of betraying his friend, nor would he have broken the pact even if he was capable of it. Infuriated, the Black Mage vowed that if the Onyx Dragon would not join him, he would be destroyed.

The Black Mage fumed for a time, researching some way to destroy the Spirit Pact and defeat the Dragon King and his friend. Eventually he concluded that if he could lock Freud in ice forever, this might break the Pact. He launched a devastating attack on the pair, trying to maneuver them into a position where he could launch his horrible curse at Freud. After a fierce struggle, the Black Mage succeeded and managed to cast his devastating spell at Freud.

He hadn’t reckoned with the Onyx Dragon’s loyalty. When the Black Mage cast his devastating curse at Freud, Afrien nobly threw himself in front of his friend, taking the curse that had been meant for him. The great Dragon was encased in ice. Black Mage had succeeded. The Spirit Pact was broken. His success was not complete, though. Afrien had left behind a great Dragon egg and so long as the egg existed, there was always a chance that a future hero might come along that could re-establish the Spirit Pact. Aran and the others knew it also. Heroically, Aran ordered his fellow heroes to cover Frued's escape. Freud eventually escaped with dragon egg, determined to hide it in a place where it might eventually be found. His friend had sacrificed himself for Freud, Freud could do no less for Afrien. Unknown to him is that his fellow allies, like Afrien, were frozen in ice.

Thus was the Dragon egg hidden away, waiting for a hero with a strong spirit would be able to recreate the Spirit Pact. Now in the Maple World of today, that time has come again. A humble soul, the child of a pig farmer, will reforge old bonds and re-establish the Spirit Pact. The Onyx Dragon will rise again at the side of a new hero who will use that power to fight for peace and justice!

Note from a player: Hey-if this is true, then Freud was not at the battle against the Black Mage. THIS MEANS THAT ONLY FOUR HEROES FOUGHT HIM!!! Well, Afrien was there...

    • Has a party skill that gives resistance to magic attacks.
    • Have unique skills that improve magic attack(Dragon Soul, Critical Magic, Magic Booster, Magic Amplification)
    • A skill like Berserk, but only for MP.
    • More choice of skill to learn instead of being dual elemental
    • Combination of Fire, Ice, Lightning and Dark elemental attacks.
    • Can deal critical damage, unlike other mages. (After Big Bang, Bishops will have critical and i think that all class have critical as well. Not sure about all but definitely Bishop - AznObama

Cons:

  • Dragon only attacks in the direction you are facing.
    • No MP Eater or MP Increase skill.
    • Recovery Aurora require 100Lv to learn make it less mana efficient
    • Weak Magic Guard , Critical Magic, and Magic Booster which you need to pay NX Cash if you want to Max.
    • Magic Guard ISN'T Weak, It just has a shorter time (Time of 350 Seconds compared to a Mage's 600 Seconds) Magic Guard Will be Nerfed in the Big bang update- Soulsap

Job Advancements

Evans do not have Job Advancement Quests[Easier advances=No Dark crystal]. They automatically advance according to their level (10,20,30,etc.) and Mir, the dragon, grows at the same time. However, Evans do have "required" quests, through which they receive some skill points! To fully master the skills of Evan, the character must complete certain quests in order to receive the rest of the SP's and as a disappointment you need a mastery book to fully master some skills.

Training Guide

Note: Always do the quests under the category 'New Hero'.

Recommended types of quests

  • 1-28 - Quests under categories 'New Hero' and 'Job'
  • 28-30 - The Rememberer's quests (Sleepywood)
  • 30-38 - Mushroom Castle quests (Victoria Island, near Henesys)
  • 38-51 - Monster Carnival 1 (If you do not have Level 20 Magic Guard, do Ludibrium PQ until Level .40 then begin doing Nett's Pyramid PQ)
  • 51-70 - Ludibrium Maze PQ and Monster Carnival 2
  • 71-78 - Twisted Jesters (Haunted Mansion)
  • 78-88 - Red Kentaurus (Leafre) or Vikerola (these are good because they have 1000 less hp the kents and give 400 more exp (they are found on the map before Galloperas) *note: Vikerola's can heal just over 1000 hp to themselves and to other monsters around them.*
  • 88-100 - Dreamy Ghosts (Hidden Street in Zipangu)
  • 101-130 - Galloperas (Singapore --> Boat Quay Town --> Trend Zone Metropolis --> Kampung Village --> Hibiscus Road)
  • 131-200 - Galloperas until you can kill Skelegons within two hits. After training at Skelegons, it's time to train at Oblivion Road 4. (Don't forget Elemental Reset)
  • Monster Carnival is tough for Evans, doing Ludibrium PQ until Level 40 before beginning Nett's Pyramid PQ is recommended. (You can easily solo this if you have the pots)
