Welcome to my Evan Guide

Welcome, fellow Mapler! If you are viewing this guide, you are most likely planning to make an Evan or you already did and just need help with some builds. Whatever the case is, I am happy to help Maplers in need of training spots, builds, and much more! I hope this guide helps you alot!

Evan

One day, while chasing a piglet through the woods, a farmboy named Evan falls into a hole and into a foggy forest. He finds an egg and brings it back to the farm. His brother, Utah, provides Evan with an incubator, which helped Evan hatch Mir. This is the beginning of Evan's job as a Dragon Master.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Gets a mob skill at level 20
  • Gets new skills about every 10/20/40 levels
  • Has a combination of normal, ice, fire, lightning, darkness, and holy
  • Can do critical damage
  • Gets early Teleport
  • At later levels gets a reviving skill
  • Ice Breath and Fire Breath can freeze and stun

Cons:

  • Consumes lots of HP very fast due to low HP
  • Does not get healing skills like a Cleric
  • Doesn't have Max MP increase, MP Recovery, nor MP Eater
  • Slow attacks
  • Needs mastery books to max out VERY important skills
  • Dark Fog is not spammable
  • Ice Breath and Fire Breath requires you to charge it to deal decent damage

AP Build

Regular LUK: LUK is +3 your lvl, and rest to INT

Example: There is a lvl 21 Evan named Bob2010. His LUK should be 24 and INT as high as possible.

LUKless: Nothing to LUK, put everything into INT

Example: There is a lvl 30 Evan named Ohoholo. His LUK should be 33 and INT as high as possible.

Note: It looks similar, but your base LUK will be the LUK you get when you achieve lvl 10. Most people recommend scrolling their equipment for LUK via LUK Scrolls, which can be expensive. If you choose not to scroll your equips, then your base LUK will be the LUK you had when you made the job advancement.

Normal LUK and LUKless Comparism

Normal Luk

Pros:

  • Has the ability to wear equips freely
  • LUK gives a bit of accuracy
  • Most common Magician AP build
  • Recommended for new players

Cons:

  • LOW damage
  • Has to take trips to Ludibrium, Ellinia, or anywhere you can get Magician armor
  • Equips are expensive starting with the lvl 33 equipment

LUKless

Pros:

  • High damage
  • Does not need to waste time going into equip stores to buy stuff
  • Cheaper in a way, because they do not need to buy equips

Cons:

  • Bad accuracy (if you don't scroll your equips for LUK)
  • Not recommended (I checked out a Evan damage range thread on Basilmarket, and it seems normal LUK is stronger than LUKless, surprisingly)

Hopefully this will help you decide if you are gonna be Normal LUK or LUKless.

Note: If I were to recommend an AP Build, I would recommend you to be a Regular LUK.
