MapleWiki is a free, read-only archive of historical MapleStory wiki content maintained by MapleTip. We respect your privacy and aim to collect as little personal information as necessary to operate the website.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you visit https://wiki.mapletip.com.
This policy applies only to MapleWiki. It does not apply to mapletip.com or other MapleTip websites and services.
1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Information
We process information for the following purposes:
- Website operation: Delivering archived content and maintaining website availability.

Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and protecting MapleWiki, compliance with legal obligations, and consent when required for advertising cookies or other technologies.
3. Advertising and Cookies
MapleWiki uses Google AdSense to help fund the operation of this free archive.
We request non-personalized advertisements. These advertisements are selected using contextual information, such as the content of the page you are viewing or your approximate location, rather than your past browsing behavior or advertising interests.
Google and other third-party advertising vendors use cookies and similar technologies across their services, including to serve advertisements based on visits to websites where personalized advertising is enabled. MapleWiki does not request personalized advertising.
Even with non-personalized ads, Google and participating advertising vendors may process information using cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers for purposes including:
- Delivering advertisements
- Limiting how frequently an advertisement appears
- Aggregated advertising reporting and measurement
- Detecting advertising fraud and abuse
Third parties may place or read cookies on your browser or receive information through these technologies when advertisements are served.
You can learn more about Google's data practices and manage your advertising choices:
Other participating advertising vendors, where applicable, may be identified through the website's advertising consent controls.
4. Your Cookie and Privacy Choices
You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.
Where required by applicable law, MapleWiki requests consent before using advertising cookies or similar technologies. You may manage or withdraw your consent using the privacy controls provided on the website.
We do not separately interpret legacy browser Do Not Track signals. Other legally recognized privacy preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, are handled in accordance with applicable requirements.
Disabling advertising cookies does not prevent you from reading MapleWiki's archived content, although it may affect the advertisements displayed.
Depending on applicable law, you may also have the right to opt out of certain advertising-related disclosures or processing.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use third-party services to operate and maintain MapleWiki.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides website hosting, content delivery, and infrastructure security services.
Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request information, and other technical data necessary to deliver and protect the website. It may also use cookies or similar technologies for security and traffic management.
Google AdSense
Google provides advertisements displayed on MapleWiki.
Google and participating advertising partners may process technical and advertising-related information as described in Section 3.
Sentry
We may use Sentry to identify and troubleshoot website errors.
Sentry may receive technical diagnostic information, such as error messages, page URLs, browser and device information, and information about the circumstances of an error.
Sentry is used for troubleshooting, not advertising. We aim to minimize the information included in error reports.
External websites
Archived pages may contain links to external websites. These websites operate independently and are subject to their own privacy policies.
We do not control how external websites collect or use information.
6. Archived Wiki Content
MapleWiki preserves historical content from a formerly interactive wiki.
The current archive is read-only. It does not operate the original wiki's account system, editing features, or revision-history functionality.
Some archived pages may contain historical usernames, contributor attributions, or information originally included in published wiki content.
We retain archived material for historical and reference purposes. However, we recognize that some historical content may raise privacy concerns.
If you believe an archived page exposes private personal information about you or someone else, contact us with the page URL and a description of your concern. We will review the request and take appropriate action, including redaction or removal where warranted.
7. Information Sharing
We share information with service providers as necessary to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and support MapleWiki, including the providers described above.
We may also preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with applicable laws or valid legal processes
- Investigate security threats or misuse of the website
- Protect the rights, safety, or security of MapleWiki and its visitors
We do not operate a visitor account database, sell visitor contact lists, or intentionally use visitors' browsing histories for personalized advertising.
8. Data Retention and Security
We aim to retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
Technical information may be retained by our hosting, security, advertising, and error-monitoring providers according to their applicable retention practices.
Information submitted by email is retained as necessary to respond to inquiries, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal obligations.
Archived wiki content is generally preserved for historical reference, subject to removal or correction where appropriate.
We take reasonable measures to protect information under our control. However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- Request access to personal information about you
- Request correction or deletion of personal information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
- Request portability of personal information where applicable
- Opt out of certain advertising-related data processing
- Lodge a complaint with an appropriate data protection authority
To exercise your rights, contact us using the information below.
We will review and respond to requests in accordance with applicable law. Some information processed independently by third-party providers may need to be addressed directly with those providers.
10. Children's Privacy
MapleWiki is a general-audience reference website and is not specifically directed to children under 13.
We do not offer accounts or features designed to solicit personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that private personal information about a child appears in the archive, please contact us. We will review the concern and take appropriate action.
11. International Visitors
MapleWiki is operated from the United States.
Information associated with website visits may be processed in the United States or other countries by our hosting, advertising, and technical service providers.
Such processing is subject to applicable privacy laws and relevant safeguards where required.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to MapleWiki, its service providers, or applicable legal requirements.
Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
For material changes that significantly affect how personal information is collected or used, we will provide an appropriate notice on the website when required by law. Where new processing requires consent, we will seek that consent before beginning the processing.
Because MapleWiki does not maintain visitor accounts or a mailing list, routine policy updates are not distributed by email.
We encourage visitors to review this page periodically.
