Welcome to my Cleric guide!

You might be wondering how to be a magician, so i'll teach you how to be one!

You will see the Maplestory screen, login and create a character in either: MapleSEA - Aquila, Bootes, Cassiopeia, Delphinus, Eridanus, Fornax, Gemini, Izar MapleGlobal - Scania, Broa, Bera, Bellocan, Windia, Mardia, Demethos, Yellonde, Galicia, Kradia, El Nido, Zenith, Arcania, Chaos, Nova or Renegades.

When you select your character, your computer screen would have something like a black out. Don't worry, it's not a breakdown of your computer, it's just loading. :)

How to do quests?

Soon, you will appear below a person. Talk to her (Heena). She will ask you to talk to Sera to get a mirror. Follow as told to do so. Sera is located at the right side of the map. After that quest, you should have gotten 6 exp. The same rule applys to the rest of the quests. I shan’t talk about the rest of the quest.

Level 6: +1 Nimble Feet

Level 7: +1 Nimble Feet

NOTE: You could wait and be patient for teleport, and put 3 on three snails, that way you might even do more damage than if you put it all on STR on Maple Island.

Ability Point Build

Now that MapleSEA has implemented the AP reset at Level 10, it is recommended that you put all into Strength for high damage (ease doing quests), and start putting your stats points into Int at Level 10.

Level 1-8: Str +5
Level 9: Luk +5 (9, starts with 4 automatically)
Level 10: Luk +4, Int +1 (13)
Level 11 and onwards: Int +4, Luk +1

Note: Just remember that your Luk should 3 more than your level (e.g. if you're level 8, your luk should be 11). Put the rest into Int.

NOTE: If you put 3 in Three snails on maple island then you could put it all on INT and Luk for the extra mp boost.

Places to Train for Beginners

Level 1-3: Snail, Blue Snail
Level 3-5: Blue Snail, Shroom
Level 5-7: Complete all the quest or train on Red Snail or Shroom or Stump

Making the Job Advancement

When you are level 8, you will receive a quiz from Maple Administrator, helping you to choose your job. The job she recommends will depend on what answers you chose. Though, it is not a must to follow what she recommends.

When you're level 7 with 85%, make sure you have completed the quests as much as possible in Maple Island. Next, after finishing Mai's Training and The Elder's Recommendation, head to Southperry. Keep going to your right until you see someone named Shanks. Before you talk to Shanks, I suggest you bid farewell to Maple Island as once you leave Maple Island, there's no turning back.

Now, when you talk to Shanks, keep clicking next or accept, then you will reach a city called Lith Harbour

Here is a map of lith harbour:

You are here when you reach lith harbour by ship->File:Lithharbour.jpg

You should be in the ship.

Now follow the steps to make your job advancement:

  1. Start walking to your bottom right when you come out of the ship.
  2. Stop walking when you see someone named Olaf.
  3. Talk to him, he will ask you for a quiz, click accept.
  4. For the first question, the answer is Level 10.
  5. Second question, the answer is Level 8.
  6. Third question, the answer is Henesys
  7. Then, talk to him again. Select "The path of magician"
  8. Do not buy any magician weapon, except for armor.
  9. Go to Ellinia by talking walk to your left first which is almost

where you boarded your ship.

  1. While walking, you will see a man beside the girl, Jane, talk to the man.
  2. Select "Please take me somewhere else" then select Ellinia
  3. After a few seconds, you will find yourself in a green forest which is Ellinia.
  4. Go to highest portal at Ellinia. Enter it.
  5. You will find a wizard which is Grendel the Really Old. Talk to him, select quest in progress, followed by clicking ok.
  6. Congrats! You've leveled up. Now, talk to him again, keep clicking next or accept.
  7. You will be a Magician after the conversation, you would have gain 1 SP (Skill point).
  8. I would recommend that you put your first SP in Energy Bolt.

Introduction to magician

Magicians are mainly the 2nd strongest among all the jobs. They are very abundant in the MS community. Sure, they can't melee for their lives, but who needs melee when you can use magic spells either in the monster's face or far away? Using spells like Energy Bolt and Magic Claw, they can inflict good damage in the intermediate levels, and protect themselves with Magic Guard. They are preferred in Party Quests for the damage they are able to do.

Pros:

  • The only job which can hold any wand and staff with a shield
  • Can recover more MP if u master Improving MP Recovery
  • High damage during 1st class adv.
  • Fastest leveling after Lvl 15+.
  • Incredible amounts of MP and MP recovery.
  • Magic Claw has stable, good damage that can attack through walls.

Cons:

Build Synopsis
Maxed at Level 10: Holy Arrow
Maxed at Level 20: MP Eater, Invincible, Teleport, Bless
Maxed at Level 30: Heal

Note: This build sucks! It says put 1 on invincible and then put a bunch in bless! You need 5 in Invincible to have Bless! And why not max out holy arrow instead of Invincible! Who NEEDS Invincible!?!!??

Note 2: "And why not max out holy arrow instead of Invincible!" Because holy arrow stinks. Shining Ray at level 70 is much better. However, "It says put 1 on invincible and then put a bunch in bless! You need 5 in Invincible to have Bless!" I agree with you.

Note 3: As stated above, someone has recommended holy arrow instead of Invincible. As a long-time Maple Story user, i strongly DO NOT recommend this piece of advice. Invincible will make clerics much more appealing to other classes, as clerics are the class that does the least damage. As a result, by having invincible, others will want to have you in their party, and you can leech off of them. However, the main reason you do NOT want Invincible is quite simple. Holy Arrow Sucks. No offense to those who use it, but consider this. Once you get to lvl 70, Priests get the ability Shining Ray, which has a Basic Attack of 60 at level one AND is a mob skill. This is a MUCH better skill than Holy Arrow, even at its max level. By adding points to other skills, your character is made more valuable.

Note 4: Hakfkj2, you should edit this guide so we can ACTUALLY get Bless, because 1 on Invincible is not enough for Bless.

You will realise that this build is quite special as I put my first point into Heal instead of Teleport. This is because you will not really need Teleport. If you ask "What about Ludibrium PQ?", my answer is to do Monster Carnival! If you max Bless and Heal early, many people will want you to buff them. Unfortunately, you have to sacrifice a little bit amount of money from level 30-45 for MP Potions as you do not have MP Eater yet. My reason is because you already have a high amount of mp which can last you for quite a while, even when you are training normally. Teleport is maxed in the end so it will help you in travelling across dangerous places like Deep Sea Gorge I.

Part 3

Well, I suppose you have played MapleStory for a couple of years and now, you are Level 70! Firstly, in order to the job advancement, go to El Nath and talk to the Magician 3rd Job Instructor.
