Description

The Dual Blade is the newest class in Global MapleStory as of v.88 on July 21, 2010. It is a branch of the Thief class, yet highly separated and identified by their flashy, quick, stabbing and slashing skills.

"There is a secret war raging in the heart of Kerning City. Lady Syl, the former Dark Lord’s daughter, wages a silent war against the current Dark Lord and his Thieves from an unknown location simply known as the ‘Secret Garden’. Convinced that the current Dark Lord is responsible for her father's death, Lady Syl seeks revenge with the aid of her Dual Blades that wield a deadly weapon in each hand."

Dual Blades have a slightly changed equipment menu. Dual Blades do not possess a shield slot, instead they have a secondary weapon slot. They wield a dagger in their main weapon slot and a katara in their secondary weapon slot.

  • Note from a player: Dual Blades actually DO have a shield slot but when you try to equip a shield, it says 'Dual Blade characters cannot equip shields'

Skills

Rogue

Nimble Body Skill.gif Nimble Body: Increases accuracy and avoidability.

Disorder.gif Disorder: Temporarily decreases the weapon def. and attacking abilities if the affected, even stunting the ongoing attacks. Can't use this skill on a monster that's already in 'disorder.'

Dark Sight.gif Dark Sight: Use MP to hide behind the shadows. While in this state, you cannot attack or be attacked.
Note: This skill only hides you from touch damage. If an enemy uses a magic attack, you will receive damage.

Doublestab.gif Double Stab: Use MP to attack the enemy twice with a dagger.

Blade Recruit

File:Katara Mastery Blade Mastery.PNG Katara Mastery: Increases the mastery of the Katara and Dagger.

File:Triple Stab.PNG Triple Stab: Use a Katara and Dagger to attack multiple enemies three times.

Katara Booster Blade Booster.PNG Katara Booster: Use HP and MP to enhance the attack speed of a Dagger and Katara. Can only be used when your character is equipped with both a Dagger and Katara.

Blade Acolyte

Slash storm.jpg Slash Storm: Attacks multiple enemies multiple times (twice at all levels). The attacks become more elaborate as the skill level progresses. Grants a short period of invincibility similar to Bloody Storm (below), but shorter.

Note: This skill requires a skill book from the Cash Shop to be maxed. Otherwise it's stuck at 5.

Fatal blow.jpg Fatal Blow: Hit one enemy up to 8 times (when maxed).

Self haste.jpg Self Haste: Increases your Speed and Jump for a set amount of time.
Note: This skill does not affect the party in GMS, as it did in KMS.

Endure.gif Endure: Allows you to recover extra HP and MP over time.

Blade Specialist

Tornado Spin: N/A

Flashjump.gif Flash Jump: While in the air, use this skill to perform a "double jump". Overall, this is the fastest movement skill in the game.

Flash Bang: N/A

Blade Lord

Bloody Storm: An advanced version of Slash Storm. Attacks multiple enemies at a very high speed with elaborate movements. Gives a fair amount of time in an invincible state as the attacks if performed--the delay between attacks leaves one vulnerable, however.

Advanced Dark Sight: On a certain success rate, allows one to remain in Dark Sight mode even after attacking. Requires level 20 Dark Sight.

Mirror Image: Summons your alternate self through dimensions, making it attack alongside you. Similar to Hermits' Shadow Partner, but does not require a summoning rock.

Owl Spirit: Deals colossal damage to one monster. If it kills the monster, your next 9 hits will have their damage multiplied by 1.5. Note: extremely slow attack, high MP cost, and has a short cooldown.

Upper Stab: Fires chained blades from the ground, thrusting the hit monster into the air. While airborne, the target monster will receive increased damage (from anyone, not just the Dual Blader). Similar to the Arans' Final Toss, which is somewhat more effective. Monsters hit for enough damage to induce knockback will be boosted back upwards slightly, allowing you to "juggle" them.

Flying Assaulter: N/A

Blade Master

Maple Warrior.gif Maple Hero: Increases all players' stats within a party by a certain percentage.

Venom Stab.gif Venomous Stab: Stab a monster with a dagger that's been smeared with poison; the monster struck has a chance of being poisoned. Usable up to 3 times against each monster.

Final Cut: Rockets the character forward, passing through enemies and dealing heavy damage in the process. Needs to be charged up for distance control, much like Corkscrew Blow or Grenade.

Monster Bomb: Throws a sticky bomb that attaches itself to a monster. When it detonates, it deals high damage to the attached monster as well as those around it.

Sudden Raid: An inferior version of mages' ultimate attacks. Attacks 15 nearby monsters with a quick appearance and strike of fellow ninjas.

Chains of Hell: The Dual Blades' answer to Assassinate: Go into Dark Sight to use it. Snares a monster (this will register as a "miss" often) and brings you close to it in order to hit it 12 consecutive times.

Mirrored Target: Uses the "other self" from Mirror Image to make a decoy that takes damage for you and the party. Similar to the Puppet used by Bowmen.

Thorns: Gives the entire party a chance for a critical hit, though the party members will receive half the effect of the user.

Hero's Will.png Hero's Will: Enables one to escape from abnormal conditions. The higher the skill level, the more variety of abnormal conditions one can escape from.
