Potential is a very big part of Maplestory and it can give some very good advantages, but we have to know what are those advantages are and how can you get them. This page explains it one by one.
Tiers
Not all Potential will be the same for every equipment. There are rankings or Tiers for equipment of certain levels.
- First Tier refers to equipment that is below level 30.
- Second Tier refers to equipment that is between levels 31 to 70.
- Third Tier refers to equipment that is over level 70.
In some versions, a Fourth Tier was introduced to equipment over level 120, but as of the Chaos Patch, it was removed.
Potential Rank
In Korean Maplestory, items with potential have at least 4 potential ranks while the rest of the regions have only 3. These are the current ranks:
- Rare
- Epic
- Unique
- Legendary
