Intro

Families are usually about making more friends and helping other get across MapleStory. To start a family, you must have at least one junior, but the junior can't be more than 20 levels below you, then your family is created. Juniors can get their own juniors, and those juniors can get their own juniors.

Rep(Reputation)

Rep is what you earn if your juniors get EXP and level up. Getting yourself EXP won't count. You can use the rep to use entitlements. That's later explained.

Juniors and Seniors

Juniors are like apprentices of a senior. Seniors are the caretakers of the juniors. They help them get across the game. If they don't take care of the juniors, they may leave their senior. Be careful however, because leaving the senior means leaving the entire family. Remember that!

Entitlements

Entitlements are like special buffs you can use to increase EXP earnings and Drop rate. You can even teleport to family members and summon them! Rep is what you use to use the entitlements. The better the entitlement, the more rep it costs. You can only use each entitlement once, but it's refreshed tomorrow.

Family Tree

The family tree is your pedigree of family members. On the family tree is:

• Up to 6 juniors, up to 3 seniors, and the leader.
• A window with the number of family members and buttons to add and delete members at will.
• The name of the family.
• The level, job, and rep of the members.

Family Notes

You can post notes on the family profile for all to see. Almost exactly like a guild note. Under that is your juniors and your current rep.

Notes

• The Junior helps the Senior to receive Rep points, but they do not receive any points.
• The Junior needs to pay a sum of money to leave the family. In doing so, the Senior will lose some Rep points.

Conclusion

Having a family is a very useful way to get you, and your family members, around the game better. Also because of the entitlements, leveling up has never been easier, and so has getting rare drops.
