Cleric
So, you wanted to become a Cleric? Perhaps you thought healing was really useful or cool. Or maybe your friends forced you to become one because of peer-pressure or blackmail. Nevertheless, you're a Cleric now!
Introduction
Clerics are excellent party members, with a variety of buffs and other supportive skills. They are essential when fighting bosses and other powerful monsters, and are even more useful once they become a Priest.
Cleric Abilities
- Main article: Category:Cleric Skills
It is important to become familiar with the abilities obtained when becoming a Cleric, before learning the skill patterns of one.
MP Eater
Soaks up a certain percentage of an enemy's mp with a certain success rate. The higher the level, the more MP you "absorb" from enemies. Saves you from buying those expensive potions. MP Eater only works if you attack the monster with a magic attack. Any magic attack can absorb the enemies MP and transfer it to yours.
Heal
A unique skill for clerics in which you heal a certain percentage of your hp, and the undead monsters in the area will also take damage. (Note, I did not say devil based monsters, they are unaffected) Heal damages a maximum of 5 monsters at a time. The higher the lvl of this skill, the more HP you heal of you and your party members. (300% Heal Rate = 300% of your HP, and this applies for party members being healed by you). It uses 24 MP when maxed.
Teleport
A skill that allows you to teleport to a certain distance of the map. The higher the skill, the less MP you spend, and the farther you will go. Teleport at 1 can go faster than a thief with maxed haste, if you use it constantly.
Invincible
Reduces weapon damage from all monsters. When maxed, it can reduce 30% of an enemies weapon attack! If an enemy does 1000 dmg, you only take 700 of it.
NOTE: Weapon Damage is not Magic Damage, a Crimson Barlogs Dark Lightning is a Magic Attack, not a Weapon Attack. Some monsters just have Weapon Attack and some have both.
Bless
Increases you and your party's Avoidability, Accuracy, Weapon Defense, and Magic Defense. The higher the skill, the longer Bless lasts, and the more Avoidability, Accuracy, Weapon Defense, and Magic Defense the party gets. Parties will adore and invite you to their party because of this skill. Also, Bless stacks with all other abilities your party members have (Except magic armor). If you were a Magician, you should max Magic Guard, as you get dealt less damage, and Bless does stack with it.
Holy Arrow
Launches a Holy Arrow at a foe, and does 1.5 times damage to both Undead and Devil based monsters. This is really the only active skill (Magic Attack) that a Cleric has. Heal is not an actual magic attack, as it is a recovery skill. There is an ongoing debate about whether Magic Claw or Holy Arrow is the better one of the two. It will be explained later in this article.
Skill Builds
- Main article: Category:Magician Skill Guides
This is what you were looking for, right? The skill builds! These can teach you how to properly spend your skill points.
Solo Cleric
A solo Cleric is a Cleric who usually does not get involved in parties as other Clerics tend to do. This is for people who prefer to hunt alone.
Party Cleric
The Cleric who enjoys the company of other people, and likes to share experience with them. Party clerics Do not max holy arrow, but it does not matter, being as they gain bless, and shining ray at 3rd job outclasses holy arrow by quite a bit. Thieves with Haste and Spearmen with Hyper Body often look out for Clerics with Bless, especially those warriors with low dex builds who will need you to hit monsters. For you, it would be very, helpful in-game.
Diverse Cleric
This is a Cleric build, not following specific paths of soloing, parties, or making money. A diverse cleric does not max mp eater, which seriously hurts your income, however a diverse cleric maxes both holy arrow and bless.

Cleric Training Guide
This is how to train most efficiently as a Cleric. We all want to level, and following this training route is an very fast and easy way to gain experience. Some monsters may have been excluded from this guide.
As A Cleric
Levels 30 to 70 are covered. *Monsters with an asterisk after their name should only be fought if you have decided to max Holy Arrow early on. Zombies may seem long, but when your a Priest you're going to have incredible new energy. Don't give up!
Levels 30-40
Horned Mushroom, Zombie Mushroom
Levels 40-49
Levels 49-52
Better to train in those level on Platoon Chronos in the hope you find some Esther Shield's
Levels 52-56
Wraith, Zombie Lupin, Dark Stone Gollem*, Malady*
Levels 56-70
Wraith, Coolie Zombie, Minor Zombie, Dark Yeti*, Dark Pepe*, Dark Jr. Yeti*
I prefer Coolie Zombie because the spawn at Minor Zombie is realy, realy bad. So just try to get a Z4-map (Forest of Dead Trees IV). You can also try the Z1-map (Forest of Dead Trees I), Z2-map (Forest of Dead Trees II), Z3-map (Forest of Dead Trees III) but the spawn at the Z4-map is the best.
Third Job Advancement
Once you have reached level 70, you may take the test to advance to the 3rd Job, the Priest. As a Priest, you receive many beneficial party and attacking skills, making yourself a must-have for all parties.

Below are a few videos that may inspire you to follow the path of a Cleric, as well as showcasing some of the abilities of the Cleric being put to use.
