Hola! I'm Marsheh, just an average MapleStory player who plays in Windia. I'm also a fan of one of the more uncommon jobs in the game: the Archer. =D I currently have a level 30 Hunter in Windia named Dexmirst. I also have 250,000+ mesos (random info xD). You can usually find me on Channels 1, or 6-8, in Kerning City or Henesys.

1. Getting Started (levels 1-10)

a. Why be a Bowman??                =======

The pros: There aren't alot of people in the Bowman world. Bowman are super cheap at levels 1-15. They get a super far range! O_O Who else gets to summon a Silver Hawk on their 3rd job advancment? They can MAKE money from level 10! Seriously! Their armor is nice lookin'. +_+ They train pretty quickly thoughout the entire game. You can KS well. B)

The cons: Armor is quite expensive at levels 30+. Have to buy/make arrows constantly/ Uses lots of potions throughout levels 1-18. Second weakest class as a Beginner (assuming you're preparing for the upgrade to the Bowman class during this period). After you become an archer, the strongest class, though.

Still want to be a Bowman? Great! =D

b. The Dice Roll                    ========

Now that you've chosen a name for your Bowman and gotten him/her outfitted, it's time for the dice roll! =D

Roll these stats: Str. X Dex. X Int. 4/5 Luk. 4/5

Make sure you have thse stats, don't ask questions. if you even have a 6 in Int or Luk, it'll mess up the insanly high damage you would have done at level 30+. This is because you have only 30 stat points to spread around. Making sure Int or Luk is low is making sure your Str and Dex is high. 4 and 5 are the lowest rolls you can get.

c. Abilty Points                     ========

Follow this pattern of spreading the ability points you gain during level up for the rest of your Mapling life. 1 Str, 4 Dex. 1 Str. 4 Dex. Hunter or Crossbowman, doesn't matter.

d. At Maple Island                   ========

Your adventure starts at Maple Island. Do all the quests along the way, and click Roger in the second map to get 3 free red pots (potions). NEVER BUY POTS AT LEVELS 1-15!!!! You'll live FINE. MY Archer survived from levels 1-16 without buying pots, and finding pots. She had 90 red pots, from fighting, not buying.

Levels 1-4: Train at Green Snails from level 1-4. Levels 5-8: Train at Blue Snails if you can kill them in 1-3 hits. Anything more is too time consuming. Levels 8-10: Do Mai's last quest. Do not activate Bigg's quest, it'll be harder to get Orange Mushroom Caps when your on the quest if you do. Sell any shells except for 30 Blue Snail Shells.

e. Becoming a Bowman                =========

I hope you have 25 dex now, cause' you're becoming a BOWMAN! =D Pay 150 mesos to Shanks of Southperry. He will take you to Victoria Island. Nice name, eh?

       READ! IMPORTANT!
        
 After you go to Victoria, go  
to Olaf of Lith Harbor. Do his 

quiz, and after that, do his second quest, and choose the path of a BOWMAN (duh!) Then, so west

to the ticket booth and go to  
 Henesys. Go right, and enter  
Mushroom Park. Press up at the 
 statue. Climb down, and enter 
 the tree house. Complete the  
quest, and become a Bowman! =D

f.  Skills                          ========

The Blessing of Amazon | Passive | Master Level: 16 Increases accuracy Level 1: Accuracy +1 Level 16: Accuracy +16

The Eye of Amazon | Passive | Master Level: 8 | Pre-requisite: The Blessing of Amazon Lv. 3 Increases the range of attack for both bows and crossbows. Level 1: Range of attack for bows and crossbows +15 Level 8: Range of attack for bows and crossbows +120

Critical Shot | Passive | Master Level: 20 Allows you to perform a critical attack with a certain success rate. Level 1: 2% success rate, critical damage 105% Level 20: 40% success rate, critical damage 200%

Focus | Supportive | Master Level: 20 Pre-requisite: The Blessing of Amazon Lv. 3 Level 1: MP -8; accuracy +1 and avoidability +1 for 70 seconds Level 20: MP -16; accuracy +20 and avoidability +20 for 300 seconds

Double Shot | Active | Master Level: 20 Pre-requisite: Arrow Blow Lv. 1 Fires two arrows at once to attack an enemy twice. Level 1: MP -8; Damage 76% x 2 Hits Level 20: MP -16; Damage 130% x 2 Hits

Arrow Blow | Active| Master Level: 20 | Fires an arrow with authority. Applies more damage than usual. Level 1: MP -6; Damage 141% Level 20: MP -14; Damage 260%

g. Skill Applying ======== Level 10: 1 Arrow Blow Level 11: 3 Blessing Level 12: 3 Eye Level 13: 3 Eye Level 14: 2 Eye, 1 Critical Shot (CS) Level 15: 3 CS Level 16: 3 CS Level 17: 3 CS Level 18: 3 CS Level 19: 3 CS Level 20: 3 CS Level 21: 1 CS, 2 Double Shot (DS) Level 22: 3 DS Level 23: 3 DS Level 24: 2 DS, Save 1 Point Level 25: Save 3 Level 26: Save 3 Level 27: Save 3 Level 28: 10 DS, 3 Focus Level 29: 3 Focus Level 30: 3 Focus

h.  Armor & Weapons                 ========

Levels 10-15: Keep Everything you have!

Levels 15-20: (buy in order, until you ran out of money) Comisite Bow - 6,000 Meso GREEN top and bottoms - 10,500 Meso Keep your headband/Skull Cap

Levels 20-25: (upgrade if you have the money) Make a hunter's bow. GREEN top and bottoms :P Again. - 18,000 for girls, 12,000 for boys Shoes

Levels 25-30: (upgrade if you have the money) Buy Battle bow - 20,000 Meso A Clothes Set. A MUST. Shoes. Optional.

Levels 30-35: KEEP EVERYTHING! You get only 5+ defence, and you pay 44,000 Meso each peice of clothing. Not worth it. -_- Keep the bow. You dont want to spend 100k, do you? :P

i. Where to train                  =======

Levels 10-15: Snails and Slimes. Use an Axe, Sword, Club, or any weapon. :P Save 60 Red Snail Shells for the bow your making at level 20. The Henesys Hunting Grounds is a good place.

Levels 15-20: Slimes, and stock on arrows and get a Composite Bow. Don't use Arrow Blow! -_- Just mash your attack buttton. Kill Slimes. Get exp. You know the deal. Fight Stumps until you have 50 Branches, too. Again, the Henesys Hunting Grounds are a good place to train.

Levels 20-25: Hope you kept your Snail Shells. Go to the Henesys weapon maker, and make Processed Wood out of the Branches. 5 of them. Then make a Hunter's Bow. Kill Pigs and Ribbon Pigs. They can be found at Pig Beach and outside Henesys. DO NOT PQ (Party Quest)!

Levels 25-30: Fight Green and/or Horny Mushrooms around Ellinia. Fight Pigs, or Octopi at Kerning City's Constuction Site. Do some PQs now. In fact, you can PQ until level 30.

j. How to make money

Arrows. Perfect. Ask non-archers for arrows if you run out, nicly. If you kill a Slime in 1 hit, that's only 1 Arrow right? 1 Arrow is 1 meso. 1 Squishy Liquid is 4 meso. Archers make money all the time! =D Sell your useless ETC. items.
