The MapleWiki Quality Control Group

About

The MapleWiki Quality Control Group (MWQCG) was started on November 5th, 2007 by Conexion in an effort to improve the quality, usability, and design of MapleWiki.

Goals

  • Make the Wiki more accessible
    • Being able to browse easily to find exactly what you're looking is a must when designing quality pages.
    • Being easy to edit when incorrect information is found or new/updated information is available.
    • Consistency in templates and guides
  • Improve the design of each individual page
    • Pages should not only have easy to reach content, but be pleasing to the eye when reading the content
    • Including new templates on longer guides so that it may be divided up into multiple pages for faster loading times.
    • Add customizable tables available in new templates so that people without much experiance can grab a template and organize their data better
  • Clarity
    • Keeping the facts simple and straight.
    • Providing links on items, weapons, etc... with help on how to use each one.
    • Making sure the articles branch out. That all articles have plenty of in sentence links that lead to other articles that may describe a specific point better.

Writing MWQCG Guidelines

  • Spelling is correct and consistent
    • We do not mind US or British spelling
      • If you do use one, stick to it.
  • Grammar usage is clear.
    • If you are not particularly good at English, or if it is your second language, please have others take a look at, and revise your work before submitting an article.
  • Know your homonyms
    • Their/There/They're
    • Knight/Night
    • Are/Our
    • It's/Its
    • Weird/Wired
    • Etc...
      • Need I go on?
  • Plz do n0t tlk thiz kthxbi
  • Practice useful English
    • Don't oversimplify your words, but don't write a doctoral dissertation either.
  • Engage the reader if possible. This is MapleStory... you enjoy this!
  • Use proper capitalization
  • When all else fails, use your judgment.

Image MWQCG Guidelines

  • Acceptable formats
    • JPG/JPEG
      • Please use higher quality save settings
        • In Adobe Photoshop, this means between a 9 and 12

    • Please include transparency for Items/Weapons/Monsters.
    • If you have any other questions regarding the quality of the images, please let us know in the discussion page at the top.
  • Maps
