Weapon attack speed

Weapon attack speed is the rate of a weapon when a character uses one to attack a monster, or just swinging it.

There are multiple weapons in Maplestory, and there is no fastest weapon, though the highest attack speed of a weapon is "Fastest", there is a numberical order of weapon speed for a weapon.

The level of weapon speed ranges from 1 to 10.

1-2 Slower

2-3 Slow

4-5 Normal

6-7 Fast

7-8 Fastest

9-10 Fastest( This is only achievable with a level 8 fastest weapon with speed infusion level 11+)

Though 9-10 are the Fastest, people do not recognize it as an official attack speed, as it's hardly recognizable, but it DOES exist.(Hurricane is a good example of 11+, though the speed is not affected by the bow, the attack rate is determined by the skill itself, and is a permanet 11+, with booster or not)

If a Nightlord with a 8 Speed Claw(A normal fastest is 7+ Booster) attacks with triple throw, the attacks are .7 seconds for each triple throw, and with booster, it turns into .5 throws a second, so 2 throws a second. If recorded, and time is slowed, the frames will show that the claw animation does not speed up, but the rate the stars come out are speeded.

Fastest attack skill in the game

Currently, the fastest skill is Hurricane, and Second to that is a Corsair's Battleship Cannon(Rapid fire does not count, as it's not a main attack skill) The Third is Triple Throw.

The few classes that Weapon attack speed is greatly affected by animation+booster/SI(Speed Infusion) are warriors(All types) Pirates(Corsairs/Bucanneers) 1-3rd job Bowman/Crossbowman, Fire mage's explosion, and a Bandit's SB.

The few classes that speed DOESNT effect are Generally all mages except for the Fire Mage's Third Job skill"Explosion".

Uses of Attack Speed

It's really useful to have a good attack speed, as it speeds up a characters training rate, and DPS, though it doesn't really help mages. Attack Speed affects warriors GREATLY, especially dark knights, where their highest level spear(Timeless Alshpwhitz) is Normal.(Highest attack spear with Fast is Sky Ski's)

SI(Speed Infusion) Is a special skill Buccaneers and Thunder Breakers have. It is really essential for a Buccaneer, as their fastest attack speed claw is Fast, and the boosters get it to lv8 with Booster/SI. SI helps Warriors in an immense way(Whether the Skill SI is level 1 or 11)

Example:

Lv 1 SI + lv 20 Booster for a DK with a Timeless Alshpwhitz= Normal attack speed(Lv.6)

Lv 2 SI + lv 20 Booster for a DK with a Timeless Alshpwhitz= Fast attack speed(Lv 7)

Generally, normal speed(5) is for all spears, and once raised can use skills MUCH faster, hence raising their dps and the rate they attack.
