Low Dex Page
A work in progress... Expected completion date: september 2009.
INTRO:
Hey, so you're wondering what sets me apart from the other page guides? Nothing really except for a more recent experience. What do I mean by that? I just started a page and while I was reading the page guides, I noticed that some guides are out of date and are missing things that I would have loved to have had. My guide won't be special, but it'll be the most up to date which might make it more relevant to you. I will update this guide as I level, which makes it more of a diary than anything else. I won't make a post or suggestion until I've come to that portion in my own maple career so you can expect an intimate and original touch to all of my suggestions. It won't be reminiscent and will be assertive. Unbiased guides always made it hard for me to choose, so I will really emphasize one or two things. I won't emphasize thirty things without any direct suggestions. That's my goal and intro to this guide. Be sure to check back often as this is an ongoing project.
Why a page?
I'm not going to answer this question, many other guides have already done this a hundred times better than me.
What type of low dex are we talking about?
20 base dex. Seeing as you will end up with 23 base dex endgame, I thought this would be a good dex to be at. It costs MUCH less money than no dex pages. The extra 16 acc really does easy the cost of gear.
Leveling:
Leveling a low dex comes with it's advantages. Being a lowdex gives you 16 more acc than you would have normally as a dexless page, but also comes with considerable strength. What does that mean? It means that using dex gear for the earlier levels, which is rather cheap, will give you the ability to fight monsters that are considerable above what would be your normal range. Being a warrior means you can mob as well. This opens up MANY doors! This gives lowdex warriors both the ability to PQ and to solo throughout their career. These suggestions will be based on the gear I suggest in my equipment section.
~ is approximately 1-10: you know the drill. Slimes, snails, whatever. At this point, lowdex, no dex, doesn't matter.
10-15: HPQ. There is NO other way of leveling as effective as HPQ during these levels.
15-20: HPQ exp will slow down, but is still offers the best exp to time ratio if done correctly, which is seldom, but never the less offers good exp.
~18-21: If you've gotten your dex gear by now, you should be able to goto some pretty crazy places. When I was level 19-21, I personally went to wild boars. The exp was amazing. If you had an exceptional HPQ team, that would beat solo'ing, but if your HPQ team is average, or below, solo'ing with lowdex as this point is pretty cool. You're doing incredible damage for your level and with the ability to mob at the same time, you outdamage most mages, which is a something to boast about!
21-30: KPQ should be done at night when the channels are empty, or else solo'ing really is faster exp. When solo'ing, I suggest two areas. Evil eyes in sleepywood and wild boars near perion. Both areas offer you the ability to mob and they both offer great exp. I went with wild boars for level 18-23, kpq for 23-26 and evil eyes for 27-30.
30-51: There's really no place like CPQ. I REALLY mean this. There is no bloody place like CPQ at ALL. Numbers you ask? I leveled 30-35 in one hour. I bought wins, but you can see the point I'm trying to make. I suggest you buy wins until level 35. The wins shouldn't cost more than 150k per. Considering that you level roughly every 2-3 CPQ wins, it should take 8 wins min or 15 wins max to get to 35. That's excluding the exp from the kills. I personally hired a lowdex low level fighter. He was only lvl 35 so I gained levels like mad. 30-35, you're in a difficult position because you lack both mastery and valuble dex you should be getting from a blue chainmail. Once I hit lvl 35, I was able to solo 800-900 cp in room 3/4 with full summons. Once you hit that point, remember to go full mastery and 5 into booster. Save your points from then on until you finish cpq. If you put even one point into final blow at this point, you lose the spectacular mobbing ability you have, which is a godsend in rooms 3/4. I'm currently level 45 and so this is where my guide will stop( june 18) I will edit this tomorrow and finish up what I can. Oh and a side note for now: It took be about a week to go from 1-45 playing 3 hours a day. I optimized all my leveling times though. I never took a break or went afk during those 3 hours. I only played where there were good mobs and i always looked for ways to utilize my time. I could really make this a section, but it'd probably be too complicated to read which equates to no readers. Anyways, until then. Scabbers outs.
