A hack in Maple Story is a something done outside of the game without legal consent to influence the game itself, and can be considered cheating. For example: The popular "Item Vacuum Hack" sucks, or vacuums, all or most items on the map that the character can currently pick up (items from monsters not killed by the player still within the ten-second limit are such examples) to the character.
