Slash Commands

From MapleWiki

Just like any other MMORPG, MapleStory makes use of "slash commands" (aptly named because they start with a forward slash (/)) in order to create shortcuts to other game functions.

User-related slash commands are listed below. GM-related commands have been left out and 99.99999% of the userbase will not need to ever worry about them.

/all -Changes chat mode to public. ("To All") Public chat messages are always displayed in white text. (With the exception of chat messages made by nearby Game Masters, which are displayed in blue.)

/party

  • Changes chat mode to party chat. ("To the party") Only people that are a part of your party will see your messages. Party chat messages are displayed in pink.

/buddy

  • Changes chat mode to buddy chat. ("To a buddy") Only people that are on your buddy list will see your messages. Buddy chat messages are displayed in orange.

/guild

  • Changes chat mode to guild chat. ("To the guild") Only people that are in your guild will see your messages. Guild chat messages are displayed in green.

/whisper <username>

  • Changes chat mode to whisper to the username specified. Only that user will be able to see what you type. Typing "/whisper" alone will automatically change your chat mode to whisper to the last person that you whispered or whispered you. Whispers are displayed in green.

/makeparty

  • Creates a new party if you are not already in one.

/leaveparty

  • Leaves the current party. If you are the leader, the party is disbanded if you leave.

/partyinvite <username>

  • Invites the specified user to your party if you are the party leader. The target user must be in the same map. This command no longer works.

/partyexpel <username>

  • Kicks the specified user from your party if you are the leader. It is not known if this command still works. (Needs to be confirmed)

/guildinvite <username>

  • Invites the specified user to the guild if you are a guild master or Jr. master. The target user must be on the same channel as you.

/guildexpel <username>

  • Kicks the specified user from the guild. If the user is offline, they will recieve a note from you explaining that they were expelled. The username you enter is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as you see it on screen.

Other slash commands

/trade <username>

  • Sends a trade request to the specified user. The user must be in the same map as you.

/?

  • Lists all the slash commands, their correct syntax, and what they do.
