Odd's Ludibrium PQ Guide

From MapleWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

From Victoria Island, buy a ticket in Orbis Station (from Ellinia) and get on the ship. Stay in the cabin to avoid being killed by a Balrog. After you get to Orbis Station, buy a ticket TO LUDIBRIUM, not back to Ellinia. After you get to Ludibrium Station, leave.

You should be at Ludibrium: Ludibrium.

Keep moving left. Keep going left maps, passing through Ludibrium: Ludibrium Village and Ludibrium: Eos Tower Entrance.

You should be at Ludibrium: Eos Tower 100th floor.

Head up the tower on the screws, and press the up arrow key at the giant brown door. It is actually a portal.

You should be at Ludibrium: Eos Tower 101th Floor.

Go to Channel 1. There should be a lot of people there. This takes you to the next part of the guide.

A2. Finding a Decent Party

If you are under level 40, don't expect any good parties to invite you. What you are primarily looking for is a party to get in. Be sure to not be in a party, and say "LOOKING FOR PQ".

If you are level 40 or above, say "LOOKING FOR LV 40 PQ" As long as the leader is good, go for it.

Once you have 6 people, change channel to the party leader's channel.

Listen for the party leader's instruction; however, do not drop or trade any items that you need besides "Passes of Dimension" and "Keys of Dimension" inside the PQ.

The party should consist of 6 people, including:

- A Bandit or Assassin (for Dark Sight)

- An Assassin, Hunter, or Crossbowman (for ranged attacks)

- A Wizard or Cleric (preferably Cleric, but any, for Teleport)

A3. The Wait

===================================================

Make sure you have the following supplies: Holy Water (all classes), Eyedrops, (all classes except Wizards/Clerics), HP Potions for your level (should heal about 50% of your HP), MP Potions for your level (should heal about 50% of your MP).

You can alternatively choose to replace the Holy Waters and Eyedrops with All Cure Potions. The Holy Waters and Eyedrops are available deep in the toy factory.

While you are waiting, your leader may tell you to change channels occasionally.

Always follow the instructions of your leader on where to go, not that of the other members, to avoid being kicked from the party.

Do not go AFK (away from keyboard). Also, do not go outside the brown door unless specifically instructed. Be ready to change channels or go through the door fast.

Help your leader track. If your leader asks you to find someone, just type ‘/findcharactername’ in your chat and press enter. Repeat. Tell him if it turns different, especially if it is at Bonus Stage.

With any luck and a good leader, you should be inside the PQ in no time.

A4. Inside: The Normal PQ

Stage 1 - Ratz

Pass Total: 25

EXP Total: 2100

Description: Kill the Ratz and Dark Ratz in the whole level. Make sure to pick up all your passes. Hand the passes to the leader, and you are done! This is a very simple stage.

Stage 2 - Boxes

Pass Total: 15

EXP Total: 2520

Description: The leader will have someone go through the portal. If it is you, hit the second box from the top, and you will be teleported to a different map. Then, tell your party that it is "clear".

Your party will proceed to finish off boxes. Hand the passes to the leader when you are done with the Tower Trap, and make sure not to leave any passes in the trap.

If you are not in the trap, wait for the "clear" message from the other person. Go through the portal and hit all the boxes. Collect the passes and hand them to the leader

Stage 3 - Bloctopus

Pass Total: 32

EXP Total: 2940

Description: Hit the boxes. Each of the boxes will summon a few Bloctopuses. Kill them all, and hand the passes to the leader.

Stage 4 - Dark Room

Pass Total: 6

EXP Total: 3360

Description: Go down and find a portal.

The top 3 portals have monsters weak to magic attack, and the bottom 2 portals have monsters weak to weapon attack. One of the bottom portals has two monsters. All classes besides magicians should go in the bottom two (or try to), and the people left should take the other portals.

Make sure to mark the portals with a 10 meso or a cheap ETC drop to indicate that you were inside. Do not go in a marked portal.

When you have killed the invisible monster, pick up the passes and hand them to the leader. There are two passes in the portal that is 2nd from bottom.

Stage 5 - More Boxes

Pass Total: 24

EXP Total: 3770

Description: Once again, mark a portal that you choose to do. If you are a Thief or a Bandit, switch on Dark Sight and go down to the bottom portal if no one else has claimed it.

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, GO DOWN IF YOU ARE NOT AN ASSASSIN OR A BANDIT, AND DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, TOUCH THE BLOCK GOLEMS WITHOUT DARK SIGHT. THEY DO ABOUT 6000 DAMAGE.

A "Mage portal" is at the top; only Wizards or Clerics with Teleport should attempt it. The other four portals can be done by everyone. Take the 4 passes and hand them to the leader.

Stage 6 - Portal Boxes

Pass Total: 0

EXP Total: 0

Description: Press the up arrow key on the boxes to be teleported up. If you press up on the wrong box, you will end up back at the bottom. The order of the boxes never changes. It is:

133, 221, 333, 123, 111

Memorize this, as you will use it in every PQ.

Stage 7 - Rombot

Pass Total: 3

EXP Total: 4620

Description: An Assassin or Hunter or Crossbowman should head up and kill the 3 Ratz. The leader will specify whether to kill all at once, or wait until each Rombot is killed until killing the next Ratz, since when you kill a Ratz, a Rombot will be summoned who can summon Block Golems.

Stage 8 - Barrel Quest

Pass Total: 0

EXP Total: 5040

No PQ is complete without a barrel quest. Ludibrium PQ is certainly no exception. As of August 2007, more than a year after the release of Ludibrium PQ, two methods of systematically checking all the combinations possible remain widely used: GMS, the more intuitive method, which shares striking similarities with the Kerning PQ barrel quest; and JMS, the faster method of the two, which involves "walking down" the steps, resulting in a faster clear, if at least 2 or 3 members know it.

Refer to A6 for an explanation of GMS method, or refer to A7 for an explanation of JMS method.

A5. Removed

Smuggling and Smuggle PQ is a controversial subject. To make this guide more "PC", this section has been removed. I will re-write this section if smuggling is ever accepted by this community.

A6. Stage 8 GMS Guide (Can also be used for many other servers)

The barrels here are numbered like this.

 12
3 4 5

6 7 8 9

GMS is pretty much the same thing as the Kerning PQ, just a bit harder, and a lot slower. That's why most people use JMS. But in case you need to learn GMS, it's very simple. When one person reaches the end, the person behind him moves 1 forward.

In order from person 1 to person 5 for example, if you are starting on 3, go down the third column.

1-2-3-4-5 1-2-3-4-6 1-2-3-4-7 1-2-3-4-8 1-2-3-4-9 1-2-3-5-6 1-2-3-5-7 1-2-3-5-8 1-2-3-5-9 1-2-3-6-7 1-2-3-6-8 1-2-3-6-9 1-2-3-7-8 1-2-3-7-9 1-2-3-8-9 1-2-4-5-6 1-2-4-5-7 1-2-4-5-8 1-2-4-5-9 1-2-4-6-7 1-2-4-6-8 1-2-4-6-9 1-2-4-7-8 1-2-4-7-9 1-2-4-8-9 1-2-5-6-7 1-2-5-6-8 1-2-5-6-9 1-2-5-7-8 1-2-5-7-9 1-2-5-8-9 1-2-6-7-8 1-2-6-7-9 1-2-6-8-9 1-2-7-8-9 1-3-4-5-6 1-3-4-5-7 1-3-4-5-8 1-3-4-5-9 1-3-4-6-7 1-3-4-6-8 1-3-4-6-9 1-3-4-7-8 1-3-4-7-9 1-3-4-8-9 1-3-5-6-7 1-3-5-6-8 1-3-5-6-9 1-3-5-7-8 1-3-5-7-9 1-3-5-8-9 1-3-6-7-8 1-3-6-7-9 1-3-6-8-9 1-3-7-8-9 1-4-5-6-7 1-4-5-6-8 1-4-5-6-9 1-4-5-7-8 1-4-5-7-9 1-4-5-8-9 1-4-6-7-8 1-4-6-7-9 1-4-6-8-9 1-4-7-8-9 1-5-6-7-8 1-5-6-7-9 1-5-6-8-9 1-5-7-8-9 1-6-7-8-9 2-3-4-5-6 2-3-4-5-7 2-3-4-5-8 2-3-4-5-9 2-3-4-6-7 2-3-4-6-8 2-3-4-6-9 2-3-4-7-8 2-3-4-7-9 2-3-4-8-9 2-3-5-6-7 2-3-5-6-8 2-3-5-6-9 2-3-5-7-8 2-3-5-7-9 2-3-5-8-9 2-3-6-7-8 2-3-6-7-9 2-3-6-8-9 2-3-7-8-9 2-4-5-6-7 2-4-5-6-8 2-4-5-6-9 2-4-5-7-8 2-4-5-7-9 2-4-5-8-9 2-4-6-7-8 2-4-6-7-9 2-4-6-8-9 2-4-7-8-9 2-5-6-7-8 2-5-6-7-9 2-5-6-8-9 2-5-7-8-9 2-6-7-8-9 3-4-5-6-7 3-4-5-6-8 3-4-5-6-9 3-4-5-7-8 3-4-5-7-9 3-4-5-8-9 3-4-6-7-8 3-4-6-7-9 3-4-6-8-9 3-4-7-8-9 3-5-6-7-8 3-5-6-7-9 3-5-6-8-9 3-5-7-8-9 3-6-7-8-9 4-5-6-7-8 4-5-6-7-9 4-5-6-8-9 4-5-7-8-9 4-6-7-8-9 5-6-7-8-9

This section of the PQ usually takes about 15 minutes or so. Listen to whatever your leader tells you to clear the stage.

A7. Stage 8 JMS Guide

JMS is faster because jumping on barrels individually is harder than sliding down to them... but it's harder to learn.

 12
3 4 5

6 7 8 9

1-3-6-7-4-8-2-5-9

or looks like this

 17
2 5 8

3 4 6 9

Basically, you can replace the numbers above in the GMS guide. However, if you're too lazy, here it is. It also works in the same way... if you start with 7, you should go down the 4th column. Eventually, you will see a pattern, and will not need this anymore.

1-3-6-7-4 1-3-6-7-8 1-3-6-7-2 1-3-6-7-5 1-3-6-7-9 1-3-6-4-8 1-3-6-4-2 1-3-6-4-5 1-3-6-4-9 1-3-6-8-2 1-3-6-8-5 1-3-6-8-9 1-3-6-2-5 1-3-6-2-9 1-3-6-5-9 1-3-7-4-8 1-3-7-4-2 1-3-7-4-5 1-3-7-4-9 1-3-7-8-2 1-3-7-8-5 1-3-7-8-9 1-3-7-2-5 1-3-7-2-9 1-3-7-5-9 1-3-4-8-2 1-3-4-8-5 1-3-4-8-9 1-3-4-2-5 1-3-4-2-9 1-3-4-5-9 1-3-8-2-5 1-3-8-2-9 1-3-8-5-9 1-3-2-5-9 1-6-7-4-8 1-6-7-4-2 1-6-7-4-5 1-6-7-4-9 1-6-7-8-2 1-6-7-8-5 1-6-7-8-9 1-6-7-2-5 1-6-7-2-9 1-6-7-5-9 1-6-4-8-2 1-6-4-8-5 1-6-4-8-9 1-6-4-2-5 1-6-4-2-9 1-6-4-5-9 1-6-8-2-5 1-6-8-2-9 1-6-8-5-9 1-6-2-5-9 1-7-4-8-2 1-7-4-8-5 1-7-4-8-9 1-7-4-2-5 1-7-4-2-9 1-7-4-5-9 1-7-8-2-5 1-7-8-2-9 1-7-8-5-9 1-7-2-5-9 1-4-8-2-5 1-4-8-2-9 1-4-8-5-9 1-4-2-5-9 1-8-2-5-9 3-6-7-4-8 3-6-7-4-2 3-6-7-4-5 3-6-7-4-9 3-6-7-8-2 3-6-7-8-5 3-6-7-8-9 3-6-7-2-5 3-6-7-2-9 3-6-7-5-9 3-6-4-8-2 3-6-4-8-5 3-6-4-8-9 3-6-4-2-5 3-6-4-2-9 3-6-4-5-9 3-6-8-2-5 3-6-8-2-9 3-6-8-5-9 3-6-2-5-9 3-7-4-8-2 3-7-4-8-5 3-7-4-8-9 3-7-4-2-5 3-7-4-2-9 3-7-4-5-9 3-7-8-2-5 3-7-8-2-9 3-7-8-5-9 3-7-2-5-9 3-4-8-2-5 3-4-8-2-9 3-4-8-5-9 3-4-2-5-9 3-8-2-5-9 6-7-4-8-2 6-7-4-8-5 6-7-4-8-9 6-7-4-2-5 6-7-4-2-9 6-7-4-5-9 6-7-8-2-5 6-7-8-2-9 6-7-8-5-9 6-7-2-5-9 6-4-8-2-5 6-4-8-2-9 6-4-8-5-9 6-4-2-5-9 6-8-2-5-9 7-4-8-2-5 7-4-8-2-9 7-4-8-5-9 7-4-2-5-9 7-8-2-5-9 4-8-2-5-9

A8. Crack in the Wall- ALISHAR

Stage 9 - Whale on Crack

Pass Total: 1 KEY

EXP Total: 5950

When you have reached Crack in the Wall, you would want to pat yourself on the back for having finished Stage 8. However, Alishar is no piece of cake without a decent party.

Some parties may choose to summon the Ratz by dropping a pass onto the box.

In this case, do not kill the Ratz. There are rumors that you get Alishar to half health doing this, and even though I highly doubt this, just leave the Ratz alone to satisfy your superstitious party members.

Alishar comes. Don't expect the Cleric to be perfect; in fact, he/she may die or get Sealed. Make sure to always heal if your health gets too low.

Use all your group buffs, and depending on how good your party is, Alishar should be defeated.

Give the key Alishar drops to your leader, and you will be transported to the Bonus Stage.

People may call specific boxes; they are:

Top Left / Top / TL: At the very top - all the boxes they can get Middle: The middle - usually the top middle, 7 boxes BR / bottom right: the bottom right -3 boxes BL / bottom left: the bottom left - 3 boxes

I prefer middle, but whichever boxes you choose is up to you.

A9. Bonus

When you reach the bonus stage, don't hit the boxes that the other people call. When picking up items, give them back to the box opener if you did not hit the box. These are the things worth picking up, in order of their importance.

Skull / Heart Earrings Napoleon Capes Other Earrings Elixirs / Sunset Dews All Others

You have 60 seconds. When it is up, you cannot go back until you finish another Party Quest, so spend your time efficiently.

Note - Your leader may decide to do a BONUS RUSH, where you don't do bonus, but rush out to do another PQ. In that case, make sure your inventory has at least one slot in equip, use, and etc, and skip to the next section.

A0. Exit and Getting In Again

Make sure to have space in all slots, not just equip and use. Arturo will give you a random item. Sell potions that they give you (perhaps sell the elixirs to people 3K each), but many of the scrolls are worth quite a lot, up to 2mil for a 60% glove attack. Be sure to check BasilMarket for a general idea on prices before selling to people.

You don't want to be ripped off.

But before selling, your main concern is getting back in. If your party is fast (no one leaving, everyone comes out at the right time) and you are lucky that no one tracked you, you will get in again. Otherwise, just wait. Go back to Section 3.
