Control

Here are the basic controls for playing MapleStory. The controls for MapleGlobal and MapleSEA differ.

MapleStory

• Control(Ctrl) is to attack.
• Alt is to jump(Mapleglobal), Spacebar is to jump (MapleSEA).
• Z is to pick up items.
• Left and Right arrow keys to move.
• Up and Down arrow keys to climb up or down a ladder or rope. Down can also be used to crouch, and Up can also be used to enter portals.
• There are also some shortcuts to use things in your menu, such as pressing "I" to look at your inventory.
• The button "H" (whisper)allows you to whisper to other characters.
• The button "W" (world map)allows you to look at the world map.
• The button "E" (equipment) allows you to look at your current equipment.
• The button "R" (friends)allows you to view and edit your buddy list
• The button "S" (skill) allows you to change/look at your skill points.
• The button "K" (key config) allows you to view/change your skills (e.g., Slash Blast, Magic Guard, Eye of Amazon, Dark Sight)
• The button "P" (party) allows you view/change your party.
• The button "G" (gulid) allows you to view/change your guild.
• The button "Q"(quests) allows you to view quests that are available, in progress, or already completed.
• The button "C"(chat) allows you to invite two characters or more into a private chatroom.
• The button "A" (ability) allows you to look/change your current stats. (e.g. Str, Dex, Luk and Int)
