Description
Chief Tatamo is the chief of the tribe living in Leafre. He sells Magic Seeds, the price of which varies depending on his opinion of the player (see below for details).

Magic Seed Purchasing
Chief Tatamo will also sell Magic Seeds to players. The actual price depends on your standing with Chief Tatamo, but defaults to 30,000 mesos per seed. You can buy any number of seeds between 1 and 100 at a time. If you wish to buy more than 100 seeds, you will be required to talk to Chief Tatamo again and make another purchase.
Befriending Chief Tatamo
Note: This section is currently believed to be complete, but not yet thoroughly tested.
Chief Tatamo will accept drops from most monsters between (but not including) Leafre and Entrance to Dragon Forest as donations to Leafre. He will accept items in any quantity you have, from 1 to as many as you can hold. If, for example, you have 352 of the same item and only 200 will fit in one slot, you can still donate all 352 at once, unlike potion purchasing which requires you to fill only one slot at a time.
By donating large numbers of items to Leafre, players can get discounts on Magic Seed purchases. Each item donated grants the player an amount of "likeness" (there is no common name for this, as it is not publicly shown, or commonly known) from Chief Tatamo, and after gaining enough, he will begin to reduce the sale price of Magic Seeds as a thank you for helping Leafre.
Different items will grant different amounts of Likeness. Generally, the higher a monster's level, the more Likeness you will receive from donating its Etc drop to Chief Tatamo.

Note that multiple donations of different items will all count toward your total Likeness. This means if you donate one Griffey Horn and one Manon's Tail your total Likeness will be 200, not 100 as it would be if items or donations were counted separately.
Depending on how high your Likeness is, Chief Tatamo will charge you different prices for Magic Seeds. To accurately know how much Likeness you currently have, you must keep track of it yourself, as the game does not show it anywhere.
