Introduction

Bowmen are one of the weakest classes starting out, but as they go further down on their track, they out-rank all classes.

Why be a Bowman

Why should I become a bowman? Well, here are some PRO's and CON's of Bowmen.

PROS

  • Two attack skills to choose from and whichever one you choose, it wouldn't affect your next job advance.
  • Arrow Blow is a skill with low MP cost, high ATT (seeing that lvl 19 AB is glitched and is 283% damage) and very good with Critical Shot.
  • All jobs after 1st Job Advancement (2nd-4th) have VERY GOOD mob control skills.
  • Ability to knock-back enemies in first job when there is no mob skills.
  • Considering this is a ranged class, the damage is pretty nice.

CONS

  • Low and unstable damage until level 40-50 when the damage is higher and the range of attack is smaller (with (Cross)bow Mastery.)
  • Double shot is very MP and arrow consuming (though most people still use because there is a 17% chance of higher damage than Arrow Blow.)
  • Very hard to train because there are scarce places (that are good for training at) with sniping platforms.

Job Advancement

After 10 levels of boring beginner skills, you will now be able to learn a new set of skills that you can master. After you have finished the Maple Island quests (or if you just skipped it) you can go the right of Lith Harbor where there are some statues of various classes. Select the statue that is resembling an Archer and he will talk to you and then teleport you to Henesys. Once there, go into Mushroom Park. Right inside will be a man riding a horse with a bow and arrow, then press up on top of him (this should lead you to a place on the right of Mushroom Park. Then, walk to the right until you see a very tall building next to Henesys Game Zone. Go into that building. Then talk to Athena Pierce, your 1st Job Instructor. Click on her and she will advance you. Congratulations! You are now an Archer and have just proceeded into the 1st Job Advancement!

The Archer AP Builds

With Bowmen (Hunters and Crossbow Men), the main ability points should go ino STR and DEX. STR is less needed but we still need if we want to equip future armor and equipment. Here are the ability point builds for Hunters and Crossbowmen

Crossbowmen

- All you need is to have your STR equal to your level to equip the corresponding level's crossbow. Here's how it would go:

  • Level 10 : 10 STR, 34 DEX
  • Level 11 : 11 STR, 38 DEX
  • Level 12 : 12 STR, 42 DEX
  • Level 13 : 13 STR, 46 DEX
  • Level 14 : 14 STR, 48 DEX
  • Level 15 : 15 STR, 52 DEX
  • Level 16 : 16 STR, 56 DEX
  • Level 17 : 17 STR, 60 DEX
  • Level 18 : 18 STR, 64 DEX
  • Level 19 : 19 STR, 68 DEX
  • Level 20 : 20 STR, 72 DEX
  • Level 21 : 21 STR, 76 DEX
  • Level 22 : 22 STR, 80 DEX
  • Level 23 : 23 STR, 84 DEX
  • Level 24 : 24 STR, 88 DEX
  • Level 25 : 25 STR, 92 DEX
  • Level 26 : 26 STR, 96 DEX
  • Level 27 : 27 STR, 100 DEX
  • Level 28 : 28 STR, 104 DEX
  • Level 29 : 29 STR, 108 DEX
  • Level 30 : 30 STR, 112 DEX

Hunters

- All a Hunter needs to have, is the STR +5 of the level, so here's how it would go:

  • Level 10 : 12 STR, 32 DEX
  • Level 11 : 14 STR, 35 DEX
  • Level 12 : 16 STR, 38 DEX
  • Level 13 : 18 STR, 39 DEX
  • Level 14 : 19 STR, 43 DEX
  • Level 15 : 20 STR, 47 DEX
  • Level 16 : 21 STR, 51 DEX
  • Level 17 : 22 STR, 55 DEX
  • Level 18 : 23 STR, 59 DEX
  • Level 19 : 24 STR, 63 DEX
  • Level 20 : 25 STR, 67 DEX
  • Level 21 : 26 STR, 71 DEX
  • Level 22 : 27 STR, 75 DEX
  • Level 23 : 28 STR, 79 DEX
  • Level 24 : 29 STR, 83 DEX
  • Level 25 : 30 STR, 87 DEX
  • Level 26 : 31 STR, 91 DEX
  • Level 27 : 32 STR, 95 DEX
  • Level 28 : 33 STR, 99 DEX
  • Level 29 : 34 STR, 103 DEX
  • Level 30 : 35 STR, 107 DEX

Note : At the beginning, around Lv. 10 - Lv. 15, the DEX is irregularly added. This is because, you need DEX as your main stat that adds Weapon Attack. So that means, if all is put into STR, then your character will be very weak at the beginning which will lead to slow leveling.

Monsters To Train On

Levels 1-5

  • Right now you should be doing quests in Maple Island to get to Level 5 really quickly. They are easy (like Roger's Apple Quest) and give enough EXP for about a level up or at least >50% EXP.

Levels 5-10

  • For now just do the quests in Maple Island. They are VERY easy compared to future quest. They also give nice EXP and can give you a real quick push to level 10. I normally just do these quests and since I already know what to do, I'm off Maple Island and in the 1st Job Advancement in about 10 minutes (or less).

Levels 10-15

  • A good way to level is to do the Archer training quests given by Athena Pierce. While doing those quests you can also do the Training Instructor quests and the quests from Hill. This should get you up to level 15 before all the quests are done.

Levels 15-20

  • Continue doing the Training Center quests and then continue with the Demon quests. Which give the Amdusias hat. These quests are very good EXP up to level 20 which by then you will be very close to finishing the long chain of quests.

Levels 20-25

  • Finish up the Amdusias quests and get the Amdusias Hat. This is a very good hat up to higher levels when you can wear a Zhelm or a Scarlion. It gives +12 Dex which beats all archer hats in the game and is only level 18 requirement. When you get the hat, 5 quests should arrive (over your head). Do these and then when they are done, go to KPQ to get the Squishy Shoes, which are very nice for level 30 shoes.

Levels 25-30

  • Once, you have the Squishy Shoes, if your not level 25 yet, turn in the 5 quests given to you and then continue with the quest chain. When you reach level 25, go to Construction Site and do that up to around level 27 or 28. This quests gives alright EXP but because Archers have no mob skills and also have minimum range, im

End

Now you have mastered the skills of a Archer and its time for the 2nd Job. Should you want to continue with my guides, these are the title: AznObama's Crossbow Man Guide (for Crossbowmen) and AznObama's Hunter Guide (for Hunters).
