The guide to your beginner skills and AP points

Introduction

Congratulations on making your new file! Now that you are in the maple world, you will begin training and playing your own little story. Of course, life in maplestory isn't just about boring, constant regular attacks. No, it's about skills and your abilities! If these were not in the game, I might as well suicide now! Anyways, if you're looking for a guide with beginner skills you've come to the right guide! Read on!

Skills

All beginners start out with the same 3 skills, no matter what path you choose, whether it be magician, warrior, archer, or thief. These skills are:(sorry no images for these skills.)
Three Snails: This is your basic attack skill, which allows you to consume a snail shell and throw it at an enemy, inflicting a considerable amount of damage.

Each level only allows that snail shell to be throw (I.E. At level 3, you cannot use a blue snail shell, only red snail shells.
     Level One: Snail Shell-1 MP-10 Damage 10
Level Two: Blue Snail Shell-1 MP-15 Damage 25
Level Three: Red Snail Shell-1 MP-20 Damage 40

Nimble Feet: Allows your character to temporarily move quicker than normal speed. (A certain recharge time is required between each use of skill)
     Level One: MP-10 Speed+10 for 4 seconds.
     Level Two: MP-15 Speed+15 for 8 seconds.
     Level Three: MP-20 Speed+20 for 12 seconds.
Recovery: Enables your character to steadily recover HP for a certain amount of time.
Level One: MP-10 Recover 24 HP for 30 seconds.
Level Two: MP-20 Recover 48 HP for 30 seconds.
Level Three: MP-30 Recover 72 HP for 30 seconds.

How to get SP

What are SP? SP are skill points. You gain 1 for each time you level up. When you choose your job of course, you will get 3 SP per level. As you can see, every skill has a mastery level of 3, or in other words, each skill can only be raise up to 3 times. You will only get 6 SP in your beginner life and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT PUT ANY POINTS IN THESE SKILLS WHEN YOU GET YOUR 1ST JOB.

Skill Builds

There are many different "builds" or ways to add your skill points. Here are some of them:

Recovery Build:

     Lvl 1-3:+3 Recovery
     Lvl 4-6:+3 Three Snails

This build is recommended for magicians, as they have low hp and low attack in their beginning levels. Also, they will obtain Teleport in 2nd job so I find Nimble Feet quite useless for magicians.

Strength Build:

     Lvl 1-3:+3 Three Snails
     Lvl 4-6:+3 Nimble Feet

This build is recommened for both bowmen and warriors, as they can kill things easier and have a speed skill, which they will not be getting in there jobs.

Thief Build:

     Lvl 1-3:+3 Three Snails
Lvl 4-6:+2 Recovery +1 Nimble Feet

As it says in its name, this build is for thieves. They will be needing a strength attack (all beginners do) and they will need a steady recovery ready and some speed before obtaining Haste.

Many people wish to have only +2 in Three Snails because blue snail shells are easier to get than red snail shells. Some argue that red snail shells are worth throwing because they have almost twice the strength. It doesn't really matter because this won't affect your life in maplestory. Of course, it's your decision. =)

Conclusion

Well, it has been a pleasure writing this guide, as it is my first. Please do feel free to make any edits that are correct with my permission. This guide may be posted on other websites as I don't really care. Please inform me about this action beforehand though, and tell me the website you are posting it on. If you would like to contact me in the game, I play in MapleGlobal Broa and my accounts are:
     HappyPikachu(funny name eh?): Level 51 I/L Wizard.
     BuRNoReLsE(cash character): Level 37 F/P Wizard.

Also if you were wondering if I have a cleric, I do and it is in Bera. xD Funny thing I have all three mages. I am not playing on this character as it is messed up.
Thanks to MapleWiki for the skill information and thanks to Nexon/Wizet for making the game! Hope you liked the guide!
