Pros and Cons

Magician Pros

  • Has long-range capabilities
  • Does not result to smacking in close range combat
  • Has loads of MP
  • Has a high MP healing rate
  • Has very stable damage range
  • Doesn't need a passive mastery skill
  • With Magic Guard, it makes them harder to kill then warriors

Magician Cons

  • Has low life, but can be solved with Magic Guard
  • Mana potions tend to get really expensive
  • Range is pathetic compared to Bowmen and Assassins

Path of a Beginner

Beginner Basic

Note: I presume you already know how to play the game

  • You get 5 AP points every time you level up and 1 skill point every time you level up until level 6
  • Every time you level up use auto assign to distribute your AP points. Don't worry about having too much STR or DEX since it will reset when you become a Magician.

Skills

I definitely will not list down the skills and all their effects but I will give my personal opinions about the skills. If you want to know all the information about the skills go to here --> magician

Nimble Feet

The skill is not really useful in the beginning of the game since it costs too much mana for you to spare and in later game it will be replaced by teleport

Recovery

The skill is insanely useful (though mana consuming) when you are still a beginner since it makes its so that you can avoid health potions by healing you 72 HP in 30 seconds. at later levels this will start to get useless but it can still be used on occasion when you have lost some life but is not worth spending a HP potion on it.

Three Snails

Probably the best skill there is in a beginners arsenal, since at max level it deals exactly 40 damage for 7 mana. (It does not require snail shells for the skills) Three Snails is not an unavoidable skill, despite popular belief. It is actually a magic attack, and therefore accuracy is determined by your INT level. (but since Magicians have high INT they can hit with Three Snails almost anywhere.

Skill Build

There isn't much of a skill build at this level but whatever

  • 1. Three Snails(1)
  • 2. Three Snails(2)
  • 3. Three Snails(MAXED)
  • 4. Recovery(1)
  • 5. Recovery(2)

  • 8. No Skill Points Earned

Becoming a Magician

Path of the Magician

Skills

Improving MP Recovery

You must defiantly MAX this skill as it saves you from having to spend loads of money on MP potions as it heals some MP for you.

Improving Max MP Increase

This is a skill that increases the amount of MP you get when you put an AP point into you MP(never going to happen) or when you level up. So this is a very essential skill.

Magic Guard

At MAX level it replaces 80% of your HP as MP which is really essential for survival, since magicians have low life. This is a skill that you will be using for the rest of the game.

Magic Armour

This skill is completely useless compares to Magic Gaurd, as it is only somewhat useful in lower levels, at higher levels it won't even make a noticeable difference.

Energy Bolt

Completely useless compared to Magic Claw

Magic Claw

This is your main offensive skill until level 30 and is also the only way for you to take out fire and poison resistant monsters. It also has the ability to go through walls which is also really useful.
