Standardized Formatting for Drop Tables

I've noticed that there are multiple things on the wiki without a standardized format.

For example, the drop table format and style differs from monster to monster (e.g. Grupin, Yeti, and Slime). I've included a potential example on my talk page. It is easy to read and to set up. The main goal would be to have one style of table for all monsters (with some exceptions for monsters like Pink Bean, which have a large number of drops in each category). If you think a different format would be better, please post it here or include a link to a page with it.

Also, how would one go about adding collapsible tables? It appears as though the wiki does not currently have this functionality, so an admin may have to edit the wiki's source if this is the case. It's mostly a stylistic detail, but it would be a nice touch, especially for pages with multiple templates at the bottom or large drop lists (see Slime as an example of the latter).

Suggestion

I think u guys should add a link to the forums on the sidebar. The main page mentions the forums but doesn't provide a link for them.

Suggestion

Just made an account to say; that there should be a Server status thing on the main page, or a link in the navigation thing.

Suggestion

Aside from using proper grammar on all pages (which should be a no-brainer), I suggest that all user-created guides should be under your own user's page, as in User:YOURNAME/YOURGUIDE. This way it's under the user namespace, and it makes the wiki more tidy.

I really think you guys should divide the wiki based on version (e.g. in a similar manner to which different language wikis are set up and have the same article available for multiple versions. I don't really like the current system of naming a page "Name in one version/Name in another version/Name in a third version" and redirecting the individual names to that page. I think the names on the wiki should be based on global, which is intended to be able to be played by anyone, and redirecting the names from other versions to the global name. This also means at least one fewer redirect for every monster/place/item with multiple names. Tahngarthor 00:03, 29 January 2010 (UTC) Correct me if I'm wrong, but since the entirety of the wiki is in English, that the vast majority of people visiting or editing on this site play primarily on Global. Tahngarthor 00:03, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Actually majority of people that play MapleSEA (Singaporeans) can read and write english, also we need Europe MS because people there can also understand. English IS a global language and many people around the world, and different versions can understand it. Its really no big deal to do version name/version name and redirecting Kennytran4 21:40, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello everyone, I'm new

Hi, maplers!!! I'm relatively new to this "Wiki" concept, but at the moment I'm beginning a newfound dedication to creating guides and help concerning Nexon Inc.'s MapleStory. I will mainly be:

  • Standardizing structure, spelling, and grammar of Armor, Weapon, and Monster articles
  • Amending biased and misleading information in general MapleStory articles such as stats and leveling
  • Fixing up links, etc. to make MapleWiki more accessible and easier to navigate.

Now please, as I'm new, don't attack me for any mistakes I do. If you have anything you believe is not right, please do so in constructive criticism. Make suggestions and recommendation - no simple corrections that would likely offend people, k?

- Sincerely, new editor "maruma12"

Guides

Guides need to have their own sub-class of wikispace, like Guide:Cleric instead of Cleric. They are not encyclopedic pages and need to be moved out of the mainspace. Blake (Talk·Edits) 19:35, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Big Bang notice

I think pages that are old and outdated should have this notice at the top, which would also place them in a category with other outdated pages. Blake (Talk·Edits) 20:00, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

NOTE: This page may contain outdated or incomplete information due to the Big Bang. Please update the article and remove this banner.

Please use {{big bang notice}} instead, as {{User:Bws2cool/Big bang notice}} is just a redirect there anyway. -- Zanachriel 12:16, 31 March 2011 (CDT)

I'm considering the idea of giving a facelift to the Main Page to make it look interesting. ToaArrol 15:37, 7 November 2011 (CST)
