So. You've decided to become a Thief eh? Well you can use stars as an Assassin. Or you can use daggers as a Bandit. Ever thought of using both?
Welcome to the world of The SinDit.

Introduction

BanditSin/Sindit is an unofficial branch of Thief (rogue) which players decided to make. It combines aspects of Assassins and Bandits. Assassins can train quickly thanks to their claws and the speed with which they throw their stars, and have the party skill Haste. Bandits have the ability to do massive amounts of damage thanks to their Savage Blow technique. The aim of a Sindit build is to combine the best traits of these two Thief builds. This is done by getting some skills for both claws/stars and Daggers in the first job, and then getting even more skills to improve dagger damage in the second job by choosing the path of the Bandit.

Creating a Character; Dice Roll

When you create a new character, you want it to roll something like this:

STR: 4/5 (unless you want to be a STR Bandit, anything is fine)
DEX: X (anything rolled here is fine )
INT: 4/5 (Thieves do not need this so it is USELESS)
LUK: X (anything rolled here is fine)
And that is what your stat roll should look like for your future Thief.

STR Bandits

Now, as stated above, STR is only needed for future STR Bandits. You might be wondering, "Hey, what exactly is a STR Bandit?" Well, I'm going to tell you what one is, so you don't get confused later on in this guide. STR Bandits are good if you think they are. They are a basic preference. Creating a STR Bandit causes your Bandit to be weaker, as you are taking away from LUK which matters more on your Thief. The main reason for STR Bandits is to use Cutters.

  • Cutters are Daggers that require STR to be equipped...a.k.a. Str Daggers.
  • Cutters have FASTER speed as a Daggers speed is FAST. The weapon speed is barely different, and it matters little. You get the same amount of hits in, in about the same amount of time.
  • Cutter's speed becomes FAST at higher levels and Daggers speed remains FAST. Meaning, Cutters and Daggers are practically equal after some time.

The main thing is they have a couple more weapon attack points on them, then the current level Luk Dagger. Which barely makes up for the LUK you did not add. In fact, according to hidden-street.net, and its damage calculator, I would be doing more damage if I had not added STR. STR Bandits are about the same as LUK Bandits. If you add into STR without thinking, as you get into higher levels, and if you forget to keep your LUK to what it needs, for your next level equipment, you will not have enough LUK to equip your equips eventually. Just if you choose to be one, plan out an AP Guide of how you are going to add your AP for each level, and make sure you have enough points in your DEX and LUK for your equipments, so you can equip them at the lowest possible level.

Stat Distribution

First off, we should talk about your stat distribution. Your DEX should be at the least 25, or else you can't become a Thief at level 10.

  • STR-Not needed for all Thieves.
  • DEX-DEX adds to your Accuracy, so DEX isn't needed as much as LUK. The only main reason for DEX is for your equips and Accuracy. DEX should be twice your Level.
  • INT-INT is USELESS for thieves, as it adds to Magic Attack and MP.
  • LUK-LUK determines the strength of a Thief. LUK is the basis for a Thief's attack.
  • HP/MP- These are the worst stats to add into. You get enough HP and MP on your own without pumping into these, and any points pumped, would be a waste.

In simpler terms each level you should do something like this:

  • Add 2 DEX each level (I say get it to 26, so you don't have to touch it until level 14, when you raise it to 28)
  • Add 3 INT each level

and for STR Bandits

  • Add 1 STR each level (starting at level 21. Your STR should be 10 until Level 21, when you raise it to 11) (STR is meant to be 10 less then your level, until level 60 for STR Bandits)
  • Add 2 DEX each level (same as above, get it to 26 instead of 25, right away, so you don't have to touch it until level 14, same as above, keep it twice your level)
  • Add 2 LUK each level.

What I mean by getting your DEX to 26 is, instead of raising your DEX to 25 for your Job Advancement, stop it at 26 before Job Advancing. That way, after you Job Advance, when you start following the Thief pattern, when you turn level 14, you start adding 2 DEX to keep it twice your level (this is just my preference). From level 10 ~ 14 you should add all 5 points into LUK for STR and LUK Bandits.
