My Guide

Hi Life. You told me to contact you if I wanted my guide unblocked. I dont really plan on editing it much yet, but I would prefer it unblocked. Of course, if more vandalism occurs, you being the admin of this site, you have all the right to block it yet again. Thank you for your time. --TheGamePhreak 03:06, 3 March 2007 (CST)

Picture Uploading

I'm trying to upload some pictures to all of the maps I've been adding recently, but whenever I do I get a message saying that "File uploads are disabled on this wiki." Would it it be at all possible for me to upload some images? --Scriptea 12:55, 26 January 2007 (CST)

My Magician Page

Hey, how did you know, I was making the page? Anyways, Yes I would like it to be protected while I write it up O_O Marsheh 23:48, 21 November 2006 (UTC) Nevermind, I got it. --Scriptea 13:46, 27 January 2007 (CST)

Page

This is a wiki. You don't seem to understand what that means, though. This isn't GameFAQs, this isn't Sleepywood, this isn't Hidden Street, this is a wiki. That means that the information should be like reading a manual, impartial, instructive, and most importantly, accurate. I'm going to fix the Page site again, not quite the same as before, but when I'm done, the information will finally be correct and helpful to anyone who reads it. As of now, it isn't. Please, don't vandalize it again.

Whoa. Good job with the new Warrior template. Personally it seems easier to navigate, especially for newbs that are looking for information. But does the old wordy version still exist for us to add info to (ie: warrior_edit)? --Bewnt 23:07, 4 September 2006 (CDT)

And I'm coming back once again to ask you: Can you put the info in Warrior Edit into Warrior/Long? Or to merge these two together, because warrior_edit contains some very useful information. --Bewnt 11:37, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

I'm here again!! This time it's regarding your userboxes in your user page. Can you change the links? They are supposed to link to stuff outside the Maplewiki, not inside, since they appear frequently in the Wanted Pages.

....

Sorry to have edited your page! R.V.S.P please. May I make a guide to thiefs using part of your type of article? Exept about thieves?--Jokerta 18:26, 9 September 2006 (UTC) Thank you so much!I will!

SORRY SO MUCH

I kind of copied a lot of your guide! So sorry! Whaever you want it'll do! Is it ok?--Jokerta 21:30, 12 September 2006 (CDT)

reply to "signing your tagging"

SORRY!!!!! I keep forgetting. Sigh. But I know I should do it next time. Sorry!!!!! --Bewnt 11:58, 3 October 2006 (UTC) (remembers)

Unknown people editing Wiki

I know it is in good intention to allow those who do not have accounts to edit the Wiki. However after that move, a lot of vandalism has occured. I can see you frantically trying to revert that, but I think the root of the problem should be solved. Can you please only allow those with an account to edit the Wiki? --Bewnt 01:40, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

The reason I propose this is firstly, it's not just a few people doing it. In fact, you caught two of them vandalising again. Unless you are really comfortable with reverting their edits. Avid editors (like you :) would sign up for an account. Okay, I know vandalizers can also sign up for accounts and make their mark on the wiki, but last time, this occured with a far lesser rate. Anyway, my stand of this is that if you detest reverting the vandalism, then only allow people with account to edit Wiki. --Bewnt 06:35, 7 October 2006 (CDT)

And now, look. Vandalism is on the rise. If you can, I beg you to allow those who have an account to be able to edit the Wiki. I think out of 10 anonymous editors, only around one does constructive things. And the rest are let off unscathed, without even being banned. Please, stop this mayhem! --Bewnt 03:10, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Well... okay. I just hope that any vandal will get a straight ban (instead of a warning). And I also hope that you (and Champion911) are comfortable with all the reverts and bannings that you have to do. Yeah. --Bewnt 10:31, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

I'll admit, it's pretty aggravating. It's becoming a pattern coming on every afternoon and reverting five or ten vandalising edits. --Champion911 17:04, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

OKAY. I had enough of this vandalism. Three questions:

1) Am I allowed to add those vandal templates to user talk pages? Or is it only for admins like you to do? I did that on one of the vandals, I shall apologize if I wasn't supposed to.
2) How do you revert vandalism the easy way? It is really, really difficult to revert a big page just relying on page history.
3) I know you are only allowed to revert thrice a day. May I revert more than thrice? Please? I want to see this wiki grow, but it gets really annoying when half the edits here are the cause of vandals.
And note that user IPs can change, banning them/warning them on talk pages is useless. That's why I always suggest: stop anonymous people from editing. Please. Don't make it get any worse. --Bewnt 12:37, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Monster Description

I am really, really sorry to bother you again. Don't worry, not complaning about vandals. I am just asking this: in every monster page, by default it should be divided into sections, and one of these is the "description", which usually contains the description of the monster which is directly copied from the Maple official website database.
Is it okay to modify, or add personal opinions to it? For example, the Crimson Balrog description section contains a sizeable amount of notes made by other players. Shouldn't these notes be given a separate section? I am willing to slowly change all the monster pages if that is the case. And if so, what about pages of monsters that do not have a description in the Maple official website database? Thanks for clarifying my doubts. --Bewnt 14:49, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

The Truth

At one time or another, we all use ACs or been in a party with ACs. Usually no ac = fail. 71.135.53.250 02:01, 16 November 2006 (UTC)

To Do Page?

Hey there Life, haven't talked to you previous, but, eh, no time like the present? I was wondering if theres a page listing the bigger things that need be done? If not, can we make one? It would be real nice to get drop tables up for some of the higher leveled monsters, for example. Maybe it would be best to put something like that on the category talk pages though? Thanks. --Rakirte 09:44, 20 November 2006 (CST)

Established Standards and Templates

Hello, Life. I believe that we should have Established Standards and Item/Monster/Quest templates. This way, we can be organized and clean. This will also help may new editors to help contribute with most effect. I wish I may start them, but I as am not an Admin, I don't think it is wise for a nobody to go making established standards / templates. Thank you for taking the time reading this. --Desertmagic 01:31, 15 December 2006 (UTC)

Fighter Page

Is there any way you can revert the Fighter page back? It is in a disasterous state now. Thanks ^^ --Bewnt 02:34, 31 December 2006 (CST)

MapleGlobal vs MapleSEA

As you know, the item drops for Global and SEA vary largely. Refer to hiddenstreet, and you will see that it is a serious problem. Since it was Global that initiated the drop changes, all the item drops stated in this wiki follow the old drops (SEA drops), which is of no use to Global maplers.
How should this problem be solved? Is it advisable to create two lists/tables for one monster? Or one heading each for SEA drops and Global drops. It would be nice if it was standardized.

Image Upload

I'm back, and is it just me, or does this wiki not accept uploading of images? I can't seem to upload. It is weird that Scriptea can upload, but I can't. Help! --Bewnt 21:57, 3 February 2007 (CST)

Where do i get?

Where do i get those userboxes. The things that say for example "This user uses American English"
"This user plays maplestory"
"This user plays Counter-Strike"
"This user is from ..."
"This user................."
Well yea...Where do i get it...? --Dominican2456 12:14, 7 February 2007 (CST)

Look at the page source code, Dominican. Kiyobi 02:30, 27 March 2007 (CDT)

Admin-ship

Admin-ship I

Well I personally do not mind being an admin. However I do not have much Wiki experience, and am more the happy if you have any guidelines/rules you'd like me to follow. Thank you for choosing me. --Bewnt 01:50, 4 February 2007 (CST)

  • Okay, after all, that's what I've been doing for quite some time... --Bewnt 06:29, 5 February 2007 (CST)

Admin-ship II

Hmmm... am I an admin yet? (and I still can't upload images) --Bewnt 00:58, 8 February 2007 (CST)

Admin-ship III

Thanks for making me an Admin. However there are some technical difficulties: sometimes I see the "protect" and "delete" tabs on the topbar, but whenever I click on them it redirects me to an error message, saying "The action you have requested is limited to users in the group 'Sysops'", even though I am part of the group. Is it because my name is not on the MapleWiki:Administrators page? Also, what do the red exclamation marks in the recent changes signify? --Bewnt 01:26, 10 February 2007 (CST)

Admin-ship IV

I stay logged in, because my username is remembered on this computer. So my IP number isn't up there. Now I go to the recent changes page. Sometimes the red exclamation marks are shown, sometimes they don't show. When I go to a page to delete it, the delete tab can sometimes be seen on top (entered once, nothing seen. Entered a second time, the delete tab appears). When I click on the delete tab, the error message pops up: "The action you have requested is limited to users in the group 'Sysops'". So in fact, I have the power equivalent to that of a normal user. I suggest adding my name to the MapleWiki:Administrators page: perhaps the admin powers are cross-referenced from there. --Bewnt 01:07, 11 February 2007 (CST)

Admin-ship V

Okay trouble settled. Apparently it was due to the cache in Internet Explorer not being cleared, and I have no intention of doing so (saved passwords will be gone). Now in Mozilla. Once again thanks for guiding me through (and delete all the old messages in this talk page if you feel that it's clogging up space). --Bewnt 05:34, 11 February 2007 (CST)

Admin-ship VI

Okay then I shall leave the blocking of users to you (I have absolutely no idea how long I should ban someone). After all what you have mentioned is quite correct: all I need is the delete function. --Bewnt 09:27, 11 February 2007 (CST)

Monster's Animated Images + Guide Indexation

Before the server crash, I remembered that almost all monsters had their own animated image. Now that the server crashed, I wonder if we can restore these images? Who has these images and can upload them here? --Bewnt 09:44, 14 February 2007 (CST)
I believe the index of guides should be named "Warrior (Guides)", "Magician (Guides)" etc. while a page listing all the information about the class should be named "Bowman", "Thief". Information like the skills they have, the pros and cons of the class, but nothing to do with SP/AP builds, or armor reccomended to equip. --Bewnt 09:52, 14 February 2007 (CST)

Regarding Ice/Lightning Wizard Training Areas.

Hye, I'd like to edit/update this page again, so could you please unlock it? Doppleganger's Ice/lightning Wizard Training Areas Thanks in advance!

MapleWiki Policy

Dominican2456 has told me that the Privacy policy is empty. I believe info should be added into it. Also, the Vandalism Policy should be added to the bottom bar, besides being on the main page. --Bewnt 07:13, 28 February 2007 (CST)

Adverts

I am just wondering, are you the one who implemented the adverts? If so, why? They are VERY distracting, but if it is to ensure the sustainability of MapleWiki, I won't question your decision. --Bewnt 11:02, 7 April 2007 (CDT)

Facts and Opinions

Hey Life, there was a request from Maplelova555 to delete my page Mythril's Advanced Mage Guide because he disagreed with a suggestion I made about Magic Armour. I thought opposing viewpoints like mine helps a player make their own decisions, but I noticed a comment you made that you wanted this Wiki to be facts, not opinions. While my guide has a lot of data, it is based on my own experiences and opinions of what has worked for me, and I just wanted to share those thoughts.

I was just wondering if you could clarify what your position is on this? I'm OK with my page being deleted if it helps no one, and is counter to this Wiki. Thanks. -- Mythril 13:44, 12 May 2007 (CDT)

Hi im the user which you blocked for intense spaming, remeber? it was bellocan. Well firstly i just want to apologize of what i did, i did this because no one visited my user page, and it was over 1 month since it was realisead, i just started to think that no one reads my bellocan introduction and that i just wasted my time doing this. So i decided to give my link to everyone's page so that they can read and comment about my bellocans introductions, before doing that i didnt know that wasnt allowed, so i decided to go to sleep. And then when woke up andlogged in i saw i had a new message and i thought "Yay, My plan did work" so i was very happy but then when i saw "this user has been blocked for intense spaming and Vandalism i screamed! Then i thought i shouldnt do that, so right now i just ask for apologizes and if theres any way i can have my accounts back i would say "thanks!" i would really thank you and i promise ill never do that again, hope we can be friends -- sorry for my bad english its because im from mexico and not from the USA,mapleuser
