Description
Hit Points, like most MMORPGs, is used in Maplestory to indicate how much health you have left. The term, "Hit Points" is commonly abbreviated to HP. Your Hit Points are indicated as a red bar at the bottom of the screen.
Different Jobs, Different HP
Note: These statements are general, and do not apply to specific cases.
- Magicians have low Hit Points (lowest of all 4 jobs), due to their lack of strength ability points (Generally 4 or 5), and also caused by not gaining any Hit Points during Job Advancement. Covered by Magic Guard ability which reduces Hit Points loss by replacing it with MP (Mana Points).
- Warriors have a very large and bulky HP. (highest of all 4 jobs). By level 30, a regular warrior will have at least 1,600 HP. This is caused by their high strength and gaining of a lot of HP during Job Advancement. They also have a skill, Improving Max HP Increase, that adds a lot of Hit Points to the already rich amount.
Ways to permanently increase Max HP
- To permanently increase your Max Hit Points, you can add Ability Points into the HP stat. This is strongly discouraged for all classes, as AP can be better spent on the relevant of the four stats, strength, dexterity, Intelligent and Luck. Warriors can add Skill Points into the skill Improving Max HP Increase. You can also complete Job Advancement, certain armor, pants, shoes, or hats; Hats, Capes, and Shields have their improving HP scrolls, which makes it easy to have a helmet/cape adding the HP stat. and for other armors, the 10%/30% improving defence scroll will grant some Max HP.
Ways to temporarily increase Max HP
- Obtain the buff, Hyper Body from Spearmen). This buff increase your max Hit Points by 60%, as well as Mana Points.
