The guide on this page was created for an older and outdated version of Maplestory and is now inaccurate to the current gameplay and no longer deemed useful. Please do not edit or delete this article.

If you want to level up faster follow suggestions:

  • Don't die. You will lose EXP. Bring along as many potions so you don't need to go shopping all the time. Sure, they cost a bomb of mesos, but that will help you level up faster than sitting in your Relax Chair waiting for your HP (and MP) to regenerate.
  • Try to train on something that you can kill in 1-3 hits. Training on such monsters levels you up faster than killing monsters that are of the same level as you. 4 Snails (3 EXP * 4 Snails = 12 EXP Total) can be killed in the same amount of time as a Red Snail (8 EXP * 1 Red Snail = 8 EXP Total), for example, so Snails give more EXP (12 EXP > 8 EXP). Also this prevents ks-ers from taking your monster while you're halfway through killing yours.
  • Also train on places that has a fast spawn and stay there. Don't walk around the whole Victoria Island and go sightseeing: it's a waste of time. Pariaticus 14:00, 7 September 2007 (CDT) The more people in a map, the more monsters and faster spawn rate. So you might take a team of players to a map to increase the spawn rate, but don't party with them, so you don't lose exp. This way you divide the area in sections/spots and get decent spawn rate, without moving from place.
  • If there are other people ks-ing you, switch channel. Otherwise politely ask them to leave. However, this wastes time (and may potentially earn you a defame) so it may be wiser to leave them alone, ignore them and continue your training.
  • Don't chat with your buddies or your guild members, or anyone for that matter. Also reject any request to party, because party members often end up ks-ing each other. An exception is if you are partying a Priest (for Holy Symbol) or a Cleric (for Heal).
  • Don't pick up your items, especially if you are the only person in the map. Go around the whole map 2-3 times killing the monsters before picking up your loot.
  • Go do some Party Quests, namely Kerning City Party Quest (lvl 21-30) and Ludibrium Party Quest (lvl 35-50). They earn huge amounts of EXP and give decent rewards. However you may want to think twice about doing this in Scania (or Aquila in MapleSEA); it may be too crowded to get in.
