Sanctum's Battle/Party Cleric Guide

V.1.3

Welcome to my guide on Clerics. This is my first ever guide ^o^. Some readers may wonder, "Whats a 'Battle Cleric?', well, it is truly and simply a Cleric that has dedicated his powers to fight evil demons and dark monsters. However, a Party cleric dedicates his powers to help OTHERS fight evil demons and dark monsters. But, a Hybrid Cleric use's physical weapons, and magic support skills to hunt.

Intro to Magic

Magic, a series of elements mainly used by Magicians. Magicians use ranged attacks to terminate its enemies other then melee them like the fierce spearman. People choose magic over melee for their own reasons. There are no wrong reasons. It's just fun to try other things and search every aspect of every skill to our desire.

Creating your Mage

NOTE: This guide contains a dice roll section for AP points. We would like to inform you that dice roll function is not used anymore in GMS and MapleSEA. If you are a beginner, there is no need as all points are assigned to STR. When you get your job advancement, click A and then click on auto-assign points. Please avoid that section and everytime you level up, press 'a' and press auto-assign. You may continue that system or if you are looking to use a special point build eg. dexless assassin, then you may do so.

This may be a very time consuming opperation if you want to make a perfectionist mage.

First of all, choose your weapon, clothing, hair style, ect.. That's the easy part. The hard part is the Stats. And maybe sometimes a name can be tough because all the good ones are taken.

Every time you create a character a random amount of stats will appear as your first option.

Now unless it reads :

Str : 4

Dex : 4

Int : 11

Luk : 6

You may want to re-roll. What your looking for is 4 for Str and Dex. Of course, the chances of this happening are about 1/100 so it does take awile. If you eventually lose your patience 4/5 5/4 will be fine. Never go above 9 or you will lose damage as a mage in your magic attacks.

Remember, it doesnt matter if you roll luck higher then int, because you will get your required stats as a beginer before turning into magician.

All you need to remember is Int and Luck are your prime stats and to keep Luck 3 more then your original level.

For example - Lvl 8 : Luck 11

When it is 3 more then your original level after each level put 1 on luck and the rest on int.

Magician

A commonly chosen profession. Many different types of skills, all with their Pro's and Con's but all great in its own way. People choose Magician as a noob, which grow up to become high levels, perhaps the highest on your server, and become famous to everyone around you.

Magicians can choose from 3 different profesions, Fire/Poison Wizard, Ice/Lightning Wizard and Cleric. They all contain unique abilities that once in your Maple life you want to try for yourself.

However, choosing the profession that you want to be as for a very long time is a hard decision, which hits maplers very often from time to time.

You could be a Fire/Poison Wizard, casting away the vicious flaming arrows unleashing havoc on the enemy or poisoning the enemies around you, killing them off one by one. The possibily of Freezing or mobbing though you should choose to be an Ice/Lightning Wizard. But the reason you're reading this guide is not to be a Fire, Ice, etc God, but to be a Holy warrior that helps others every way they can.

End

Energy Bolt - 1

MP Recovery - 16

MAX MP - 10

Magic Claw - 20

Magic Guard - 20

Reason

Energy Bolt only goes to 1 because Magic Claw is a lot better in damage. MP Recovery and MAX MP are both maxed so you reached the full extent of MP. Magic Guard is better then Magic Armor because Invincible is Magic Armor, and it is just a waste of all your precious skills.

Job Changing

Hopefully you are reading this is because you're ready to become your 2nd profession.

First, go to "Grendal the really Old", the NPC who turned you into a Magician, to receive a letter to take to another NPC in the map "Forest north of Ellinia". After you talk to him you will be sent inside a tree with Horny Mushrooms and Curse eyes. Your aim is to kill these monsters and collect 30 Dark Marbles which will occasionly drop. (Estimate of a 1/3 drop rate).

After completion talk to the NPC at the top of the map and you will be sent out and given "Proof of a Hero" which you will take back to Grendel the really old.

Now all you have to do is choose your profession and Voila, you're a Cleric!

Cleric

Cleric, the Holy warriors to Heal and Buff up other people and youself.

Commonly chosen over Wizards for their Holyness. The Holy knights have the ability to Heal bomb the dead to destroy them. Yes, heal has the opposite effect on the undead/demons.

Battle Cleric vs Party Cleric

Battle Cleric PRO's :

- Massive damage to Undead/Demons

- Can heal and kick butt at the same time

- Can buff, solo, heal making us one of the ultimate solo characters

- Not having to buy HP/MP pots

Battle Cleric CON's :

- Solo-ing is lonely, Lol

- Little damage against the strong creatures that aren't Undead/Demons

- Will not have a Maxed skill because of Holy Arrow

Party Cleric PRO's :

- Accepted into alot of parties giving us alot of exp

- Can make everyone super strong

- Alright damage to the undead

- Maxed all helpful skills

Party Cleric CON's :

- Can't Solo very easily against the strong

- Needs MP Pots because MP Eater is when YOU kill a monster, not your team-mate.

- Partying wont give you full exp, taking longer to Lvl up

Heal - 30

Holy Arrow - 30

MP Eater - 20

Invincible - 20

Bless - 20

Reason

Teleport is your first skill because Level 1 Heal will make absolutely no difference. Then onwards you will max heal because you will be party questing in ludi, not soloing yet. Then, you will get Holy Arrow followed by MP eater for obvious reasons, then on you will not longer need MP Pots or HP Pots. Now all that's left are your buffs. You may get Invincible first over Bless but bless is more preferred.

Teleport - 20

Heal - 30

Invincible - 20

MP Eater - 20

Holy Arrow - 11

Reason

Maximum heal of course because if your in a party with a spearman you'll need to heal at least 10k hp, so maxing it is your best decision. Next you need buffs to help your party become strong and MP eater for the undead you and your party may kill, and finally teleport so you dont waste so much MP, of course, you can swap MP eater for teleport. Your decision. Then with the rest of the skills put in Holy Arrow.

Hybrid Cleric

A hybrid cleric is a strange build for people that want to try different things, they use weapons such as Red Whips, Snowboards, Korean Fan, all the common weapons that only require a level and no stats.

When making a hybrid cleric, your stats are different. You get int to 20 to make youself a magician and the rest go into str and dex. There is no gear that will have a specific requirement so you have to choose the stats yourself. I prefer making dex double your level and the rest into str.

As for the gear, you won't be wearing magician equips because they require luck. You'll be wearing common equips such as Baseball Cap, Ice Jeans, etc.

The reason you want to make this is to be an individual and try new things. The reason why it's a hybrid cleric is for the support skills to help you in battle.

Hybrid Cleric skill path

This skill path is also the skil path for magician. Some skills like energy bolt and magic claw arn't needed because int will increase the damage, and you only getting 20 int.

Leveling Locations

1-8 : I know people say Green Snails and Blue Snails but it seems so slow, because it is. But it most likely is your best decision.

BUT, I have an alternate route. Ever since an update I missed you have been able to do alot more quests on maple island, I recommend doing all the quests but NOT getting the reward for them untill level 7. That way when you get the rewards, they give 30-300 exp. Very fast.

9-15 : Henesys Hunting Ground : Slimes, and Orange Mushrooms are fantastic but some of you might not be able to afford alot of MPs, so the best decision would be snails as you can 1-hit KO them.

16-21 : Slimes and Orange Mushrooms, you can find them both at Henesys hunting grounds and slimes at the tree that grew.

Or, pig beach, alot faster then slimes but a real pot waster. Only go here if you can afford alot of [[HP potions] and [[MP potions]].

22-30 : Party quest at Kerning. Very fast exp and you even get rewards. Though you are a low lvl, you are a mage so you are accept slightly easier then Warriors and Archers. If you decide that no-one will pick you till a higher level go fight green mushrooms.

30-31 : Teddy in Ludibrium

32-35 : Fire Boars and Wild Boars. Fire boars can be found at the flame land and wild boars can be found very oftenly around perion.

36-50 : Ludibrium Party Quest. EXCELLENT exp, about 45000 exp per pq, lvl 35s arnt accepted very easily either but keep trying. If you can't get accepted try Chronos or Brown Teddy or Pink Teddys since your in Ludibrium.

51-60 : Wraiths at the subway. Not Jr's, The big load. Head deep in the subway to find them.

61-70 : Coolie Zombies and Minor Zombies ^o^. Coolie's drop Cromi, White Seraphis and Dark Seraphis, weak to Holy, and give good exp. Very good to level on. Even though you may not need Cromi because you got thorns or something, still good to sell.
