Welcome to my Evan Guide

Welcome, fellow Mapler! If you are viewing this guide, you are most likely planning to make an Evan or you already did and just need help with some builds. Whatever the case is, I am happy to help Maplers in need of training spots, builds, and much more!

Feel free to type in notes anywhere you want.

Evan

One day, while chasing a piglet through the woods, a farmboy named Evan falls into a hole, into a foggy forest. He finds an egg and brings it back to the farm. His brother, Utah, provides Evan with an incubator, which helped Evan hatch Mir. This is the beginning of Evan's job as a Dragon Master.

Pros + Cons

Pros:

  • Gets a mob skill at level 20
  • Gets new skills about every 10/20/40 levels
  • Has a combination of normal, ice, fire, lighting, and darkness
  • Can do critical damage
  • Gets early Teleport
  • At later levels gets a reviving skill
  • A mobbing Cold Beam, Ice Breath ftw!
  • The strongest Magician class in MapleStory (I'm not kidding, this isn't an opinion)
  • Teleport costs less MP

Cons:

  • Consumes lots of HP very fast due to low HP
  • Does not get healing skills like a Cleric
  • Doesn't have Max MP increase, MP Recovery, nor MP Eater
  • Slow attacks
  • Needs mastery books to max out VERY important skills
  • Dark Fog is not spammable (but any monster that enters the fog recieves horrendous damage, and the fog remains for a pretty long period of time)

AP Build

Regular LUK: LUK +3 your lvl, and rest to INT (don't put +3 LUK each level, just make sure LUK is +3 your level)

Example: There is a lvl 21 Evan named Bob2010. His LUK should be 24 and INT as high as possible.

LUKless: Nothing to LUK, put everything into INT

Example: There is a lvl 30 Evan named Ohoholo. His LUK should be 33 and INT as high as possible.

Note: Yes, it looks similar to Build 1, but... You scroll your armor/weapon, which gives you the LUK you need (at least most people scroll their equips for LUK).

Normal LUK and LUKless Comparism

Normal Luk

Pros:

  • Has the ability to wear equips freely
  • Does not need to buy LUK scrolls
  • LUK gives a bit of accuracy

Cons:

  • LOW damage
  • Has to take trips to Ludibrium, Ellinia, or anywhere you can get Magician armor

LUKless

Pros:

  • High damage
  • Does not need to go to Equip stores to buy equips
  • Cheaper in a way, because they do not need to buy equips
  • Wanted in boss runs or Mu Lung Dojo PQ because of your high damage

Cons:

  • Bad accuracy (if you don't scroll your equips for LUK)
  • Has to stick with one or two equip from lvl 10 - 200 (usually)
  • Needs to scroll equips for LUK, which can be costly

Hopefully this will help you decide if you are gonna be Normal LUK or LUKless.

Note: If I were to recommend an AP Build, I would recommend you to be a LUKless.
