Congratulations! MapleStory has been installed. Why not get right into it? Double click the shortcut icon on your desktop (or, in 'Start / All Programs', click it once) and the game should start. Once you arrive at the 'login screen', enter your Nexon ID and password. Press 'Login' and you will be prompted to create a PIN. Enter the PIN twice (the second time to verify), and then you will have to Login all over again. (Your PIN has now been set.) Again, enter your Nexon ID and password, but this time you will only have to enter your PIN once. Once you login, you will have to accept and agreement and choose your gameplay gender. Your gender doesn't ''really'' matter, but it will determine how people act toward you. (Unfortunately, if you choose a male when you're a girl, or vise versa, you will get the occasional 'You're hot' remark, even though your characters' appearances don't determine your own.) | Congratulations! It's time to make your first character! They can be of any gender, and unless you're willing to spend real money their face and hair will always look the same. But the most important part here is the stat roll. Before you roll your stats, you'll already want to know what job you want to take, warrior, thief, mage, or bowman. If you don't know what job you want, I suggest you research a few before completing the character creation. Basically though, each class will use two of the stats i.e. magicians need INT and LUK (the exception here is the STR bandit). You'll want to be sure that the two UNNEEDED stats for your job are 4/5 i.e. magicians have 4 DEX and 4 STR. Now there is a little area on the character creation screen that suggests which character is suited for the rolled stats, but you still probably want to stick with a 4/5 in any unneeded stats. After that adjust your appearance, make a name, and click start, and Welcome to Maple Story! |

Guide Information
Hello, and welcome to Maple Adventure, a thorough complete guide of MapleStory, a game by Wizet and Nexon. This guide is ideal for people who have not used MapleStory before, but it is also helpful to everyday users. Please note that this guide is currently not finished! MapleStory Setup
In order to play MapleStory, you will have to register an account and install the game. If you have an account and have installed the client, feel free to skip this category. If not, please pay attention.
MapleStory Servers
There are eight servers in all, each for a designated country and/or continent. Though, this guide is written in English, and I'm going to assume that you're playing MapleGlobal, MapleSEA or MapleEurope. The other servers include the original one, the Korean server, as MapleStory is a Korean game.
Account Registration
First, you will have to register your account. Visit your server's website (MapleSEA, MapleGlobal or MapleEurope). Then, you should find the 'Sign-Up' option. It is usually placed on the left side of the page, and is very easy to find. Click it, and you will be redirected to the registration page. I can't help with your registration, though I can say that it is required that you are at least thirteen years of age. If you aren't, consult a parent/guardian. Once you are registered, however, you will usually have to verify your account. Check your e-mails and then click on the validation link. If you didn't get it, login to your server's website and choose the 'Resend Validation Email' option (usually found in 'My Account' or 'My Info' or such).
Client Installation
Now that you've successfully registered your account, it's time to download and install the game client. You don't have to be logged in to download or install it, just look to the menu at the top of the screen. There will be a link with 'DOWNLOADS' on it. Without clicking anything, put your mouse over this word and a few more options will appear underneath. Choose 'Game Client'. You'll be able to choose from .RAR parts or the full .EXE version. I prefer to download the .EXE, but it's entirely up to you. Your download should take approximately thirty minutes. Once your download is complete, go to where it has been downloaded and double-click it. The installation should begin. Again, I can't help you here. It's really simple, however.
PIN Setup
(skip this section if you're from MapleSEA)
Your gender doesn't really matter, but it will determine how people act toward you. (Unfortunately, if you choose a male when you're a girl, or vise versa, you will get the occasional 'You're hot' remark, even though your characters' appearances don't determine your own.)
MapleStory Game-play
After logging in successfully, you'll be brought to the world selection screen. The worlds will differ from each server, but worlds do not really make a difference. I suggest choosing the newest or second-newest world, as the oldest world is usually overcrowded. Select one of nineteen/twenty channels, and you'll be brought to the character selection screen.
Character Creation
NOTE: This guide contains a dice roll section for AP points. We would like to inform you that dice roll function is not used anymore in GMS and MapleSEA. If you are a beginner, there is no need as all points are assigned to STR. When you get your job advancement, click A and then click on auto-assign points. Please avoid that section and everytime you level up, press 'a' and press auto-assign. You may continue that system or if you are looking to use a special point build eg. dexless assassin, then you may do so.
