So, you have decided to choose Bowman as a job? Your choice is great! However, you may want to know a lot about Bowman. You have come to a right place. This guide will guide you to become a powerful bowman. I will only create a guide on Hunter to Ranger, but not Crossbowman, however.

What is Bowman?

• Bowman is a job in MapleStory that uses bow or crossbow to attack.

How to become a Bowman?

To become a Bowman, you must be Level 10 or above with the DEX stats of 25. Once you fulfill the requirements, proceed to find Athena Pierce in Henesys, which is located in a house, far right side of Henesys Park.

What are the Pros and Cons of Bowman?

Pros

• Bowman uses ranged attack, so bowman may not get hurt easily at a distance.
• Bowman have high accuracy, which means monsters with high avoidability will not be a problem for bowmans.
• Bowman can fire arrows much further than Magician.
• Bowman have the highest knock-back, because all bows have knock-back rate.
• Bowman can fire arrows without using arrows itself at Hunter level.
• Bowman is powerful and important to party at Bow Master level, because of the skill Sharp Eye and Hurricane.

Cons

• Bowman have weak melee attack using bow, although bowman does not always use melee attack.
• Bowman have low HP, which cannot kill a very strong boss monsters by himself.
• Lower-levels weapons is relatively expensive.
• Arrows will be consumed quickly at lower-levels.

Archer

Now you need some monsters to kill to level up. Note that this is one way to level up. Another way is doing quests to level up. Also, you may wish to participate the Kerning City Party Quest.

AP Points

• For bowmans, you must have the STR stats and DEX. STR must be 5 points higher than your level.
• For example, if your level is 15, your STR must be 20. The rest of the points is added to DEX.
• But at higher levels, you may wish to stop adding STR and focus on adding DEX to strengthen your character.
• DEX raises your maximum attack, while STR raises your minimum attack.
• If you add STR, your attack will be more consistent.
• However, if you add DEX only, not only you cannot wear higher-levelled equipments and weapons, your damage will be more widespread. (If you know your Maths well, you will understand.)

Monsters

This is a recommended list of monsters you may want to train on.

• Level 10 to 20 - Slime
• Level 20 to 30 - Ghost Stump or Wooden Mask
• Level 25 to 30 - Wild Boar
• Level 25 to 30 - Rooster or Duck
• Level 25 to 30 - Party Quest (Kerning City)

Skills

The Blessing of Amazon

This skill increases accuracy with a Master Level of 16. You must add 3 SP points to this in order to use the other two skills.

Critical Shot

This skill allows you to perform a critical attack with a Master Level of 20. This skill is extremely important if you want to hit higher damage. Instead of the normal damage, which is shown in orange numbers, this shows up in red numbers. You must max this skill in order to become a strong Bowman.

The Eye of Amazon

This skill increases the range of attack with a Master Level of 8. This skill is important in order to fire arrows at monsters at far distance. You need 3 Blessing of Amazon to add this.

Focus

This skill increases your Accuracy and Avoidability for a period of time with a Master Level of 20. Not neccessarily needed, but you may want to add it. You need 3 Blessing of Amazon to add this.

Arrow Blow

This skill fires an arrow with more damage with a Master Level of 20. Not a very useful skill, but requires 1 Arrow Blow to unlock Double Shot.

Double Shot

This skill fires two arrows at once with more damage with a Master Level of 20. A useful aggressive skill, essential and very important to Bowman. You need 1 Arrow Blow to add this.

• Level 11 - 3 The Blessing of Amazon
• Level 12 - 3 The Eye of Amazon
• Level 13 - 3 The Eye of Amazon
• Level 14 - 2 The Eye of Amazon, 1 Critical Shot
• Level 15 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 16 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 17 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 18 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 19 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 20 - 3 Critical Shot
• Level 21 - 1 Critical Shot, 2 Double Shot
• Level 22 - 3 Double Shot
• Level 23 - 3 Double Shot
• Level 24 - 3 Double Shot
• Level 25 - 3 Double Shot
• Level 26 - 3 Double Shot
• Level 27 - 3 Double Shot

Until Level 27, you should have:

• 3 The Blessing of Amazon
• 20 Critical Shot (max)
• 8 The Eye of Amazon (max)
• 1 Arrow Blow
• 20 Double Shot (max)

The rest of the SP from Level 28 to Level 30, you may add on either The Blessing of Amazon or Focus, up to you.
