AP Distribution

When you first start your character can be named and look like whatever you want but your stats should look like this

The Xs can be anything but the 4s should be a 4 no matter what.

after that you should add all of your points into dex until it is level 25. Then from that point on add all of your points into luck.

Maple Island

When you first enter Maple Island, you'll see Heena. Click on her. She'll ask you if you want to enter the training stage. This is very recommended if this is your first character in Maple Story. When you enter you see a lot of tv's which'll show you the jobs in Maple Story. Nothing special in the first map. The second map, however contains a couple of quests. See Maple Island Quests for more details. The most important quest here is Todd's How-to-Hunt. You shouldn't leave this place until you have completed all of the quests. when you are done talk to Peter to exit the map. In the next map, click on the NPC to exit.

Then when you are on the main part of the island you can explore and complete quests. It is important to complete all of the quests because they will give you valuable potions and equipment for use later on in maplestory. These are the skills you should get on maple island: 2 - Nimble Feet (1/3) 3 - Nimble Feet (2/3) 4 - Nimble Feet (3/3) 5 - Recovery (1/3) 6 - Recovery (2/3) 7 - Recovery (3/3) 8 - Nothing 9 - Nothing 10- Nothing Once you are at least level 10, have 25 Dex, and have completed all of the quests on maple island then you should have a letter to give to Shanks. Go to southperry and talk to Shanks. He will take your letter and transport you to Victoria island.

Victoria Island

When you arrive, you'll be in Lith Harbour. the first thing you should do is talk to Olaf and complete his quests and select thief as the job you would like. Now if you go back near the boat you'll see a guy in a ticket booth. Go to him and have him take you to Kerning City. You should be level 10 and have 25 DEX. When you arrive, find the "Fusion Bar", go down the ladder in the toilet and talk to Dark Lord. first complete the quest that Olaf gave you and then he'll give you a lot of information about being a thief. He'll make you a thief, increases your MAX HP and MAX MP, give you 1 SP, a beginner thief's claw, three sets of a beginner thief's stars (they have 1,000 stars each and are not rechargeable), and a beginner's thief's dagger. Then he will give you a training quest. You should complete all of the quests that you get.
