Sublyme's Spearman Guide
I'll warn you, this guide is written from the perspective of a spearman in the making, so there is bound to be errors in and such.
Starting Out
To start out you'll want to get your original stats some where around these.
- Str - 10
- Dex - 7
- Luk - 4
- Int - 4
These stats will get you quite far on Maple Island.
Maple Island
Stats
On Maple Island, skills are the least of your worries as a warrior. There's very little use for them, because you'll deal so much damage to these monsters. You should only add into strength for a while. But once you hit about level 4 or so, you'll want to start adding a point or two into Dex, so you have about twice the Dex of your level. Make sure you add enough Dex so you can hit Orange Mushrooms, because they'll be great training later on.
Skills
Skills shouldn't be too high on your list of priorities for now, but if you want to add to them you can. I'd suggest maxing Nimble Feet as soon as possible, because it's just a generally useful skill. I'd also suggest putting as many points into Recovery as you can, because when you attack for long periods of time up close even the slightest HP recovery can help. Three Snails is pretty much useless, as you can do lots of damage to early enemies anyways.
Equipment
As there isn't much you can do for equipment on Maple Island, Just do with what you're given. Make sure to do Pio's Collecting Recycled Goods, get the Relaxer, and do Bigg's Collection of Items, that way you get a better weapon. Your hat should be whatever you get from Lucas' Reply. You probably won't get the nice Red Headband, but it's ok, it doesn't really matter. Your low level equipment is so random, it's rather hard to write a guide for it.
Level 10
I pray that by this time you have quite a bit of mesos, that way you can afford the trip to Victoria Island, and then Perion. Once you hit level 10, you'll want to venture to Southperry, but there's a good chance you've been here before.
Victoria Island
Getting Here
Getting here is no problem. Just talk to Shanks in Southperry on Maple Island, and give him 150 mesos. He'll take you straight to Lith Harbor, where you'll want to go straight to Perion. Talk to the guy in (maybe next to) the booth near the ship, and go to Perion. As a beginner it's cheap, but when you become a Swordsman it costs 10x more.
In Perion
In Perion, you'll want to find Dances with Balrog. He's at the very top (North) end of the town. Once there talk to him, and you'll become a Swordsman, and you'll get a point to spend on skills. Put this in Improving Hp Recovery that way you'll be able to get access to Improving Max HP Increase faster.
