Introduction

Magicians are probably the most common class of Mapler. The do have quite low damage compared to attacking classes, but their skills ARE the coolest.

Pros And Cons

Pros

Their damage isn't as ranged as classes such as warriors. Coolest Moves. Has Magic Guard, which makes HP pots less important. Clerics, after maxing MP Eater and Heal, really don't need pots at all when grinding alone on undead mobs. Accuracy is decent.

Cons

MP Pots are more expensive than HP pots, and you'll need a LOT of them. Higher leveled bosses may kill mages easily. Low weapon defence, and the high magic defence doesn't really do much, since monsters don't have magic attacks until higher levels.

As a Beginner

Training on Maple Island

There is no real point grinding until level 8. Doing the quests is by far the fastest way to get to level 8. As a magician, you will be the only class not to complete all the Maple Island quests due to the lower advancement requirement rate.

At level 8, a little light bulb will appear above your head. Try your best to become a magician. Answering the questions that make you look weak and on the final one 'The skills that look cool' will normally make you get a Magician recommendation. You will be automatically teleported to Grendel The Really Old's house in Ellinia, and from there you become a magician.

Beginner Skills

Maxing three snails may be a good idea since you no longer need snail shells to use three snails. I also prefer Nimble Feet over recovery.

Beginner Magician

AP

At this point, you can go two ways on the Magician line.

The Lukless Mage

Pros

More damage at lower levels, and so then can show off.

Cons

The highest level lukless wand is only level 64. No armors, and therefore more damage taken, more HP and (because of Magic Guard) MP Pots. No armors make you look crap unless you have NX. Lose 10% EXP every time you die.

Average Mage

Pros

Less damage at lower levels, but after level 64 when mages can't get any more wands or staffs, you may do higher damage. Armors make you look better than lukless mages if you have no NX, and gives more defense. Lose 5% EXP when you die, less than the lukless 10%.

Cons

Less damage at lower levels, and most don't get to level70+ More money is needed for armors.

I got bored. Ill edit this later.
