Introduction

Hi guys~! Thanks for choosing my guide to help you get the perfect claw thief for you. I am currently working on this guide so be patient, please. Don't mind spelling errors, I'm not the best one in English. If you spot them, feel free to edit them. If you want to add something new, please don't. If you have notes to add, also feel free to add them.

NOTE: I'm not working very hard on this guide right now, I'm quite busy with my school and stuff. Please forgive me. =(

FAQs

Q. What is an AP?

A. AP is an abbreviation for ‘ability point’. You can use them to increase the value of stats like strength (STR), dexterity (DEX), intelligence (INT), luck (LUK), health points (HP), and mana points (MP). You are awarded 5 ability points every time you level up. Most people do not spend their AP on the HP and MP as u will gain HP & MP after every level up (For more information, scroll down).

Q. What is an SP?

A. SP an abbreviation for "skill point". You can use these to increase the level of the skills. You will receive 1 SP when you got the job advancement at level 10. After this you will be rewarded 3 SP every time you level up.

Note: Example, if you are in your 2nd job adv. now, you should spend your SP in the 2nd job skil book rather than the 1st job (The same rule applies to the 3rd and 4th job).

Q. Is it smart to increase MaxHP and MaxMP with AP?

A. It is not smart to add AP to HP or MP because the increasment is negligible (especially in high levels), and LUK and DEX are more important.

Q. Why are dexterity (DEX) and luck (LUK) important for thieves?

A. Luck is very important because it increases their damage. The dexterity does not really help to increase your damage, but equipment has a value of dexterity you need to wear it. DEX also increases Just make sure you have just enough . No more, no less.

Q. What are DEXless thiefs?

A. Dexless thiefs only have 25 DEX for the job advancement. After this they only add SP in LUK. This way you'll have a lower acurracy, but higher damage. In this way, a level 40 Dexless can do the same damage as a level 70 dexed thief. Dexless theifs also need to have plenty of mesos because they need to buy clothes tha add alot of dex and also need to scroll clothes for dex so that they can have good accuracy and avoidability.

Q. Why aren't strength (STR) and intelligence (INT) important?

A. STR (Strength) and INT (Intelligence) is not required to wear thief equipment. Because of the low level of STR you will be weak at the first 15~20 levels.

The Road of a Beginner

Introduction

So, you want to be a Claw Thief. Well, First you have to make a character. Log in and pick the desired sever. If you want a quiet server, you may be choosing for Khani, Mardia or Kradia. If you want to have a more busy server so you have no problem getting items you want, you should choose Scania, Broa or Windia. Once you have chosen your server, click "Create a character" Fill in the desired character name and choose the desired clothing. You'll also see numbers below your character name. E.g.

STR 10

DEX 4

INT 5

LUK 6

You should keep clicking the dice until you have 4 in STR and INT, like this. x can be anything.

STR 4

DEX x

INT 4

LUK x

Congratulations~! You are now a level 1 beginner. LOL. Double-click to enter the server.

Training Ground

Yay, welcome to MapleStory. When you first enter Maple Island, you'll see Heena. Click on her. She'll ask you if you want to enter the training stage. This is extremely recommended if this is your first character in Maple Story. When you enter you see a lot of tv's which'll show you the jobs in Maple Story. Nothing special in the first map. The second map, however contains a lot of quests. See Maple Island Quests for more details. The most important quest here is ||Todd's How-to-Hunt||. You shouldn't leave this place until you are level 4 if you leave. If you are level 4 talk to Peter to exit the map. In the next map, click on the NPC to exit.

Maple Island

Now the real (he-erm) training starts. The monster can fight back now and you'll see a larger variety of monsters. In the first three maps you'll see Green Snail and Blue Snail. Kill these until you are level 6. If you want to you can do the quest of Maria, she'll give you a bandana or a skullcap as reward. If you think you are strong enough (if your becoming a magician level 8 for other jobs level 10), go to Southperry and pay the captain of the boat 150 mesos. He'll take you to Victoria Island

Victoria Island

When you arrive, you'll be in Lith Harbour. Youll see a guy in a ticket booth. go to him and have him take you to kerning city.you should be level 10 and have 25 DEX. And if you do than it's time to become a member of the criminals in MapleStory, the Thiefs!

When you arrive, find the "Fusion Bar", go down the ladder in the toilet (Ewww)and talk to Dark Lord. He'll give you a lot of information and blah blah blah. He'll make you a thief, increases your MAX HP and MAX MP. He'll also give you 1 SP upon. If you wanna know what to do with it, see topic SP Builds in my guide. Go to the equipment store and buy yourself a garnier and a (maybe two or three, if you can afford it) set of subis. Now go to the right and train on the orange mushrooms.BUT BE CAREFUL.Dont try to take on 415850388543720957438657497632 of them at a time or you will be TRAMPLED. plus youll lose exp and that wouldnt be very fun now would it? also, If you want to you can start with the Henesys Party Quest(I'll call it HPQ).the HPQ is perfect if you just got your job if your level 10-25 you can join or start a party for it.(more info on HPQ later)

Note: Thanks to the one who wrote it. xD ~HunterRicky
