Description
Monster Book is a collection of Monster Book Cards (which are monster-specific, unlike the match card type). Many new players mix this term up with Monster Card, which are the match game cards. When you collect a card, it automatically is imputed into the your monster book and the monster is added to your collection. Upon collecting more cards, additional information is added, such as a list of drops and locations. Temporary stat boosts also occur depending on your level. Here is an example of the monster book and some cards in it:
How to access the monster book
The normal key that is binded to the monster book is key "B" in Global MS. You may need to re-bind it to a different key if that key is already occupied.
Monster Book Card Level
Access the cover of the monster book by clicking on the "!" tab on the left side of the monster book. Notice the level indication of the book? The more cards you collect, the higher the level of the book increases.
The following is the amount of cards you need to achieve a level. It is based on how many basic cards you have, and not how many you have in total:
- Level 1: 0-10 cards, Red cover
- Level 2: 11-30 cards, Orange cover
- Level 3: 31-60 cards, Lime cover
- Level 4: 61-100 cards, Green cover
- Level 5: 101-150 cards, Sky Blue cover
- Level 6: 151-210 cards, Blue cover
- Level 7: 211-280 cards, Purple cover
- Level 8: 281+ cards, Black cover
Tabs on Monster Book
Notice the tabs on the right of the image? These tabs can be clicked on and used. Each tab has additional information found on a monster. NOTE: You will need to collect the maximum of 5 cards to have access to all monster information. The following is a description of each tab and its functions:
Monster Animation
- Requires you to have 1-2 monster book cards for a particular monster.
This tab shows the monster image and the Hit Points and Magic Points of the selected monster. Having 1 monster book card of the monster shows it's image, having 2 shows it's Hit Points and Magic Points. Whenever you first open a monster book, this is the default tab it will always go to.
Episode
- Requires you to have 3 monster book cards for a particular monster.
This tells the elemental weakness of a monster, the type of monster, the level of monster, and some background information on where the monster possibly came from.
Dropping
- Requires you to have 4 monster book cards for a particular monster.
The drop list for that monster. This is one of the best features of the monster book. It not only tells every drop, but also tells some stats about a particular drop you look at.
Found In
- Requires you to have 5 monster book cards for a particular monster.
The comprehensive map list of where where monsters appear. Very useful for the avid adventurer.
In addition, a 1 hour "Quest" will open up, increasing the experience value for killing that particular monster by 15%. You can go to Tienk in Lith Harbor if you want to cancel this "Quest".

Depending on the colour in the background of the card, each card is considered ranked. Here is a list to show these ranks:

Rank 1:Level 106~Level 200
Black
Yellow Cards are boss cards and event cards. They are considered rare and elite.
Tips on collecting Monster Book Cards
- The cards are random drops. You could get one in 5 minutes or 5 hours. In other words, do not get discouraged from no drops. Keep trying!
- A important tip to remember is that you can only collect 5 cards per monster. Once you get the 6th card, it will no longer be inserted into your monster book.
- Depending on the level of your character, some monster book cards do not activate their powers. For example, a level 100 character collecting red (low levelled) monster cards. The level of a certain character seems to affect the presence of a special power. (whether it is there or not)
Monster Cards from monsters
All monsters except for event specific monsters such as the Anniversary Cakes/Big Puff Daddy and the Thanksgiving Turkeys drop monster cards. Also, some monsters do not drop cards in Global Maple, such as the Singapore monsters.
