THE MAGICIAN GUIDE

Magician1.gif Magicians use magic attacks, such as energy bolt and magic claw and, later on, cold beam, thunder, fire arrow, heal, and holy arrow. All magician attacks are ranged and use a lot of mp. Magicians usually have extremly high mp and low hp because of their high intelligence and low strength.

Strength: Has great accuracy, and ranged attacks. Has extremely high MP and many and I mean many support skills.

Weaknesses: Has very low HP. Can not jump and attack.

Bottom Line: It’s still the best job in Maplestory (I think anyway). GETTING STARTED As you start MapleStory, chose your name and you style. When you’re done that check out the stats section. As magicians you ONLY need INT (Intelligence) and LUK (Luck). So basically this is what you would want:

STR: 5 or 4 DEX: 5 or 4 INT: High as possible LUK High as possible

CONGRATULATIONS! You’re now a member of MapleStory! You can start playing now; go explore the island and BEST OF ALL you’re getting closer of being a MAGICIAN!  LEVELING UP

Try to do every quest, but DON’T BOTHER to do the Biggs collect of item. It’s too hard for the magician. Don’t do Mai’s training either, but do everything else. Its easy EXP points. You got to keep killing the green snails and the blue one until LV 8 with INT of 20.

Tip: Don’t waste your time on the shrooms and red snails or the big mushrooms.

THE ABILITY POINTS

Every time you level up you’ll gain 5 ability points. The ability points can be spent on STR, DEX, INT, LUK, HP, and MP. As a magician you want to make your stats so that your LUK = level + 3 and use all the others on INT.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT; DO NOT USE YOUR ABILITY POINTS ON STR, DEX, HP, AND MP! THESE ARE USELESS FOR A MAGICIAN (except for MP anyway but its still wasting it).

BECOMING A MAGICIAN

Once you’re level 8, go to Southperry and talk to Shanks. He is located beside a huge ship. Talk to him and he’ll teleport you to Victoria Island for 150 mesos. When you arrive in Lith Harbor, talk to Phil and he will also teleport you to Ellinia for 120 mesos.

THE TIME IS NOW

Once you’re in Ellinia, go to the top and you’ll see a magical library. Enter the library, and you will see a person floating in the air. That’s Grendel the Really Old.

Talk to him and he will ask you if you want to be a magician, SO SAY YES I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!  YOU’RE NOW A MAGICIAN!

MAGICIANS SKILLS

These are some skills you’ll have: Improving MP recovery: With this, you'll recover even more MP every 10 sec. Improving MP increase: Increases the maximum amount of your MP. Magic Guard: Temporarily replaces damage with MP instead of HP. If MP reaches 0, the HP takes a full hit. Magic Armor: Temporarily boosts the weapon defense by blowing magic into the armor. Energy Bolt: Use MP to attack an enemy once. Magic Claw: Use MP to attack an enemy twice.

SKILL DISTRIBUTION CHART

Every level, you’ll get 3 skill points. To use them property, please follow this chart.

Level 8: +1 Energy Bolt Level 9: +3 MP Recovery Level 10: +2 MP Recovery, +1 MP increase Level 11: +3 MP Increase Level 12: +3 MP Increase Level 13: +3 MP Increase Level 14: +3 MP Recovery Level 15: +3 MP Recovery Level 16: +3 MP Recovery Level 17: +2 MP Recovery, +1 Magic Claw Level 18: +3 Magic Claw Level 19: +3 Magic Claw Level 20: +3 Magic Claw Level 21: Save your Skill Points to save money (this is because magic claw doubles in MP requirment after this) Level 22: Save your Skill Points to save money (this is beacuse magic claw doubles in MP requirment after this) Level 23: +9 Magic Claw Level 24: +1 Magic Claw, +2 Magic Guard Level 25: +3 Magic Guard Level 26: +3 Magic Guard Level 27: +3 Magic Guard Level 28: +3 Magic Guard Level 29: +3 Magic Guard Level 30: +3 Magic Guard

TRAINING ON WHAT MONSTERS?

Level 8 – 10: Green and Blue Snails

Level 10 – 20: Slimes

Level 20 – 25: Pigs / Ribbon Pigs / Iron Pigs

Level 25 – 30: Wild Green and Horned Mushrooms

Level 30 +: Horny Mushrooms and Zombie Mushrooms
