I’ve noticed quite a bit that people seem to be a bit confused with the issue of money. So this is a list of things that will hopefully set multiple players in the right direction.

Beginning Levels

From lvls 1 – 30, actually 40, your character will be VERY poor. (provided that this is your first character and is not funded by another.) Accept it and move on with your life. Besides at such low level you never really need more than 50,000 (50k) at any time. Don't be greedy.

Looting

When you are training it is vital that you PICK UP ALL DROPS. Yes, this includes snail shells (average of all colors is about 3.4 mesos a shell) and small bronze meso coins. It adds up very quickly. Like you would have no idea how quickly. I know this may look lame and cheap to your friends, and yes they do laugh at me, but I'm the one laughing when I tell them I have more money then all of them put togheter. (with the exception of you Stiv. but it is true) Henesey's hunting ground is a good place to loot for coins & items. Now be warned. Looting is a very rude and noob (noob not newb) thing to do. You should always ask first, even if you are in a party. THIS IS THE NUMBER ONE WAY TO MAKE MONEY. No joke. This actually works. Insane I know but it does.

This is also how you find super rare items that can be sold for millions (at later levels, sry newbs.) The FM (Free Market)will become your best friend. It may be slow without a shop but it works, and you can make an easy stash of money, for nothing.

Equips

When you first turn lvl 10 or even 15 the first instinct of everyone is to go out and buy the newest clothes. Because lvl 8 mages just have to have that wand and warriors absolutely need that new axe. Forget it. Below lvl 30 equips really don’t do anything. Maybe a few extra points, but you’re better off just sticking with your maple island gear. Just stick with the weapon that you received your first weapon.

Good things come to those who wait. Why would someone say it if it wasn't true?

Fame

Selling and buying fame is a risky business. –See scamming section- once a day, after lvl 15, you can fame one person a day. However, you can only fame a particular character such as your friend Joe once a month. You can though receive an unlimited amount of fame from other characters (they fame you).

Because the subject of fame is to fame people who are cool, nice, helpful, etc scamming for fame is not an illegal act and you cannot be banned for it. So selling fame is difficult and very unrewarding. If you do decide to use this process you will have to experiment a bit to fully understand the best ways to trade, sell, buy fame are not to ask random strangers but those in your party, guild, friends.

If you do decide to go into this business then I would suggest selling fame anywhere from 10-20k (k = thousand, m = million). Personally 15 is about average but there are quite a few people who will ask for 30k, and they can not always be trusted, however for as many of them that can’t, there are those who can.

Trading fame is something rather common. (you fame someone and they fame you) This is just as dangerous as selling and buying.

Bottom line, fame is best used on friends, guildies people who actually need it and not for money.

Party Quests (PQs)

Wonderful inventions that allow you to level VERY quickly, however, money is something that is skipped over. If you want money, don’t do a pq.

Kerning PQ (KPQ) (lvls 21- 29) and Heneseys (HPQ) (all lvls) actually is a pretty good way to gain items cheap to lvl 30- items and a very limited amount of money. (however this is only available in the bonus round, which most people avoid and then fight over the items.)

LMPQ (Ludi Maze PQ) (Lvl 51- 70) An excellent source of money! the only exception. You get both pots, items, and cold hard cash. But that is pretty far away still. =p

Potions

Potions (pots) are very important in keeping you alive which results in not lossing experience (exp) but they should be used sparcingly and only when really needed, like to keep you from dying. For some reason people typically fall into one of two categories when coming to Use items.

1. They have none what so ever, and constantly haning on ropes or chilling on chairs or,

2. They have enough to feed Balrog for 10 years. Just hang on to enough in case you get to a tight spot, really you don't need that many.

Sins, archers don't need a million arrows/stars, a few slots full but no more. That's just a waste of your money. you will never need that many in your life. seriously, be over prepared but not by that much. (Around lvl 30, archers do get something called soul arrow which is basically unlimited arrows)

Scrolls

Scrolls are something to use on items above lvl 50. Really, anything else is pretty much a waste, unless it's something like gloves, cape, idk. Some people will argue against this, but that's my opionion. Unless of course you scroll items simply for the purpose of selling them. However, most people at low levels (1-35) can't afford scrolled items so you're best off scrolling gloves, or something.

As expensive as scrolls are, they are a good source of money. If you are reading this chances are you should just sell your scrolls or store them somewhere on a mule character. (another character simply to hold items.) Scroll prices can be found somewhere else like maple basil or something I'm not getting into that.

Scrolls are almost impossible to come by below lvl 40 outside of FM and you won't encounter them much.

Storage

Can hold a few items for a one time cost and an endless amount of money. This is hard to use sometimes because people are constantly running to the storage man (located in all towns) to get money. However this can be used to your advantage. If you find you are a spender and constantly spend money whenever you get some you should simply just try and store a certain amount in the bank a day and watch it add up. Now of course inflation should be added. The amount should be increased by a bit every level. But this is an easy way to save up, and only you can access this money, of course.

Gachapon

A funny looking box that randomly gives out items. Some are rare and worth millions while some are common potions. It's a luck based thing and can only be activated with NX (Nexon Cash) payed for with real money. NX is something that is up to you, while it is not vital to MS, it does make the game ALLOT more enjoyable.

Taxi

The taxi is a great way to transport to places very quickly. However, it does add up just as fast. I would recommend walking allot. It may take a long time but it saves money, and hey, you can kill a few slimes on the way.

An alternative to this is buying teleport scrolls. If you are a thief, get Kerning return scrolls, mages should buy Ellinia, you get the point. Holding on to a few of these will help save you some mesos. But they do take up room, and players tend to be lazy with them and just teleport all the time, which will actually cost you more money, so be warned. Also scrolls can't take you to Orbis or Ludibrum. Have a Sleepywood scroll or two isn't a bad idea.

Thanks
