Ships are a common form of transportation in MapleStory, allowing access between several continents. Players can travel by ship by going to the main port at their current continent, buying a ticket (which usually costs from 6000 to 80,000 mesos), and boarding the appropriate ship at the right time. Ships operating from the central hub of Orbis Station travel to the continents of Victoria Island, Ludibrium, Ariant, Mu Lung and Leafre.
Ships in MapleStory appear to be airships instead of traditional seaborne craft. The appearances of most are usually related to their destinations.
Advantages
- Relatively safe
Disadvantages
- Moderately high ticket prices (for beginners)
- Boarding allowed only 5 minutes before departure at regular intervals
- Long flight times (approximately 15 minutes)
- Occasional appearances of very high-level monsters
