NPCs (or Non-Player Characters) are characters which populate the fictional aspect of the game. These characters are controlled by the game itself, and have many different uses. The NPCs found within MapleStory can do anything from starting, continuing or finishing quests to nothing at all. Some may sell potions, weapons and other goods, while some may help with transportation (such as the Regular Cab). Here are subcategories to NPCs found in various towns around MapleStory:
