For the 2nd portion, pressing the up button while on the topmost platform, 2nd platform from the right, will get you through. Then going left to the ladder. The trick to get past this is to hover above the 3rd rung of the ladder. As for the way to the portal, get hit by the moving orange bar (so you'll be knocked to the left platform), go up, and brute force your way through to the portal.

Second map: Fall down, take damage, and press the up button while on the traffic light. Then begin the ardous climb. If you are not careful and get hit by a laser, most likely you'll end up having to start from scratch, because remember that the big platforms are "not there". Get to the other side, and jump, aiming for the portal. You'll most likely suffer fall damage and get knocked off that platform. In that case, scramble for the nearest safe platform, so being agile is critical here. If not, you'll have to start from the bottom of the column.

Description of Jump Quest

For the first map, you will be introduced to lasers. The idea is to dodge them. When the lasers shine, predict where you would climb to next. Then when the lasers go off, climb to wherever you wanted to. Don't be too ambitious; you'll just get hit by the lasers before you get up. And be careful: for this jump quest, the big platforms has lots of holes in it. You can fall through it.

Then begin the arduous climb. Get through the portal, and you're done!

Remember: Jump Quests cannot be completed unless you have patience! Patience is more important than nimble fingers.

Notes

  • "Talking" to the Exit sign will return you to the subway. No refunds.
  • You can return to redo this jump quest. Finishing it again will reward you with 2 pieces of a random mineral/jewel ore, excluding Gold Ore and Black Crystal Ore.
  • Unlike all of John's jumping quests, you can do Shumi's Lost Coin quest again even after you recieve this quest.
  • NEVER trust the big platforms. You'll never know whether it is actually empty space.
  • At the end, there are Jr. Wraiths waiting for you to kill. There's also the occasionnal Jr. Boogie. Double-clicking on the Treasure Chest brings you back to the subway, with the corresponding reward insuated into your inventory. Note the timer. When time runs out, you are automatically ejected out of the area.
